God Thinking XXX - The Trouble With Tragedy 3

"In the words of Paul, found in 1 Corinthians 15:54-55, “So when this corruptible shall have put on incorrption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. V55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?”

And in Genesis 50:20, “But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.”

More of satan’s seeds of doubt:
“How could a loving God allow such a wicked and terrible thing, like the terrorist attacks at the twin towers or the tragedy in your home, happen. And, “God brought this tragedy as judgement against you."

You need to know deep down in your heart:
  • Your Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ was not responsible for the tragedy at the Twin Towers or in your home or workplace.
  • God did not bring on this kind of tragedy to awaken America or to awaken you.
  • God did not allow this kind of wickedness to deeply affect the lives of tens of thousands of people or to get your attention.
  • God played no role in the preparation of the attack, on the Twin Towers or in the tragedy in your home or office.
  • God doesn’t terrorize innocent men, women and children to teach them, try them or test them.
  • God does not aim airplanes at people to; raise awareness, cause people to believe in Him, prove His power, or for any other reason.
God does not do these things.
Are you altogether clear on this issue?

Don't let the pain of the incident fog you view of Holy God. Be mad. Be angry. Be disappointed. Cry out and tell God your true feelings. God did not do this to you and God can take your anger and venting and their will no no repercussions against you.

Note: You will not be able to move forward with understanding until you believe this truth. This is universal truth, not isolated to one religion or one faith. Understanding that God did not cause your tragedy is just as much part of the gospel as believing that Jesus is Lord. Don't hold out so that you can stay bitter at God and others. If that happens you are stopped in your tracks as far as moving forward in God's economy. Everything will begin to wither and all hope will be diminished. Bitterness will slowly erode any chance you have of understanding, Why?
