Thought for the day

"For some of us, it is fitting to make a decision about a change, and then draw a line in the sand and never again cross that line.  Some people stop smoking overnight and ride out the ramifications like breaking a wild horse.  For others, it means making a decision to make a change and then slowly weaning ourselves off of it.

It is in making the decision to create a healthier and more godly life that honors God and that God honors.  The way we do it is not nearly as crucial as deciding to do it."

Thought for the day

I hope you take time to here this word carefully.

"God-thinking is going to require you to take a close look at your habits:

First, you will determine what habits are assisting you to reach your goals - dreams - desires and make sure that you maintain them and practice them with regularity.

Second you will determine what habits are consuming your time - energy and resources and are keeping you from your goals - dreams - desires, and eliminate them."

Thought for the day

"No one has an edge here. No one has any more time than anyone else to pursue the thoughts of God. God is not a respecter of persons. He will give His deepest thoughts to anyone who will seek Him. He will open up His secrets to anyone who will listen. Only believe.

God-thinking will change your life for the good, because the unbelief and the doubt and the past, all find themselves being replaced with belief and faith and newness. The strongholds that the enemy once had, are no longer available, because we are using our mind and our bodies in the pursuit of excellence with God."

Excerpts from The Power of God Thinking by Keith C. Powell Copyright 2010

Thought for the day

"God is emanating or sending forth:

His Word - His creative power - His healing power
His protection - His Mind - His thoughts
His Spirit - Always - 24 hours a day
God's love - mercy - forgiveness - compassion - grace & truth are going forth from God - Always.

God-thinking allows what is going forth from God to be received and utilized by us. We receive what is going forth from God according to our faith to receive it."

Thought for the day

Matthew 17:19-20, "Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out? And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place, and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you."

God-thinking believes what God says. God-thinking removes the barriers that unbelief has built so that you can receive what your faith can perceive. The truth found in this verse can become one of the components that change the way we think - But the unbelief built up by past failures or past disappointments or past illusions must be replaced, by faith. When unbelief is removed, faith can do what was impossible to get done by unbelief.

The way we think determines what is possible and impossible for us.
All of God
   is always available
      to all the people
         who place all their faith
            in Him.

Thought for the day

"God-thinking demands that we believe what God says, despite our current circumstances.

Paul says to us in Colossians 3:1-2, "If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. V2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth."

Please take your goal and dreams, your aspirations and desires to God first. Get God's endorsement on your mission before you take off - not half way through the process - not towards the end when you want what you are already doing to be approved by God. It may be too late, at least for that mission. It's better to start over with God in a thing, than to continue on without, no matter how long you have been working on something."

Thought for the day

"O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee; my soul thirsteth for thee: my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is; Psalm 63:1

Early isn't always first thing in the morning. How about early in your life? As a matter of fact, early as used here means early in a task - or early on in anything. How about early in your decision making process? How about when you first come up with a great idea? How about when you first hear about an opportunity that comes your way?

I will seek God early in my plans to sing my songs.
I will seek God early in my quest for knowledge.
I will seek God early in these last years of my life.
I will seek God early in choosing what I eat as my regular diet.
I will seek God early this year.
If you haven't found out already, you will find out in due time, you need to seek God early in your thinking process. God-thinking requires it.

Thought for the day

"God-thinking doesn't measure success like worldly thinking. Worldly thinking measures success by destination - conquering all obstacles at any cost to reach the goal. God-thinking measures success by direction - the direction we are in, in the pursuit of our goal or dream.

Think about this: Success is not found in acquiring a new car. Success is found in the honorable pursuit of a new car, by hard work, planning and saving.

Success is not found in knowing more than others. Success is found in the distribution of what we know while in the pursuit of more knowledge.

Success is not found in having wealth. Success is found when there is a fair exchange of talent or hard work for the wealth.

Success is not found in having more, (at any cost). Success is found in the rightful accumulation of what we have, through honesty, integrity and wisdom.

Success is not found in being the greatest tennis pro, boxing pro, or football pro. Success is found in reaching excellence without demeaning others - by helping others along the way - by being kind and generous to our competitors.

Success is not found in the apprehension of our goal - But in the honest pursuit of that goal.

Thought for the day

"We cannot master all things or have all things, do or be all things. Some consideration should be given to what things will help us reach our goals and to what things are just consuming our time, energy and resources.

God-thinking evaluates what is important and what is just plain consuming us - With God-thinking we carefully determine what is useful and beneficial to our whole being and diligently seek to possess it. - And we also carefully determine what is consuming our time, energy and resources, that is not useful to our whole being and diligently seek to remove it.

Thought for the day

"During your life you are not going to master all things. You are not going to be good at all things. You are not going to accomplish all things. You are not going to know all things. You are not going to reach every goal. But you can master one or even several goals.

God-thinking teaches you, that to reach your goals and stay in the will of God, there are three principles that will greatly benefit you that the world does not practice:

First and foremost - choosing a goal that can be sanctioned by God.

Second - Purposefully setting out to fully understand your role and God's role in getting to your desired end. In other words acknowledging what you are able to do towards creating your goal and acknowledging what is impossible for you to do and will require the hand of God.

Third - Talking and listening to God while on the journey.

Thought for the day

"If you are like me, you want to get on with the part of God thinking that helps us find success and fulfill our goals, answer our prayers and bring our dreams into fruition. One of the ways that we can make some quick progress is by re-defining the way we think. God-thinking will train our minds to see beyond our current circumstances and teach us how to place ourselves in the right place at the right time. Sometimes people think success is found by being at the right place at the right time, but that's not always true.

Success means different things to different people. Success can be earning a degree. For a baby, success is walking for the first time. Success can be getting a passing grade at school or walking without a walker. Success could be putting a Southern Gospel Band together or a Praise Team. It will be different for each of us.

The world teaches us that we are all falling short of this magical mark, called success. The world tells us:
You must be this or that to be successful
You must join this or that
You must have this or that
You must take this course
You must have this new car
You must use this makeup
You must take this vitamin
You must buy this new boat, home or whatever.

The world bases success on what you need to buy to get there, i.e., the accumulation of things. The world has created a false standard of how to measure success, because satan is the god of this world. The world does not recognize the successes and achievements that you have already accomplished, because by recognizing the successes and achievements that you have already accomplished, it has nothing to sell you.

God-thinking defines success differently. God-thinking acknowledges who we are today, attributing great value to each and every accomplishment and failure that we have achieved or received.

Thought for the day

"So, you have the faith - you believe it can happen - you have a goal - what else do you need? God-thinking relies on God to complete us. Our thinking is transformed into God-thinking when we allow God to interject His thoughts into our mind via the written Word and when we allow God to speak to us in our heart, by His Spirit. See what John says in John 14:29 "And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye might believe."

God thinking is when we confer with God to assure that we are fulfilling God's foreknowledge of God's plan for our life - In God's timing. Not too soon, where the unprepared live. And not too late where there is much disappointment and sorrow - But right on time, where things go right."

Thought for the day

"The way we think, quite often determines the outcome of any given situation.  Again, different from positive thinking, God-thinking allows us to rightly perceive the negative things in our life, like: Pain - sickness - disease - being broke - losing on the stock market - losing a loved one - feeling depressed - sadness - loneliness.  Positive thinking demands that we turn a blind eye to the negative things of life.  God-thinking allows each of these real things that happen in our life - these real emotions and experiences - to be experienced without losing face or going backward.  God-thinking uses these things as building blocks.

Positive thinking demands denial of the real, sometimes negative things that happen in our lives.  God-thinking teaches us to face each facet of life with the expectation that going through it makes us better, because, God went through it with us, side by side, as close as God can get.  Our weakness reveals God's Sovereignty.

Excerpt from The Power of God Thinking by Keith C. Powell

Thought for the day

"God-thinking is positive, but not the same as what we have come to know as 'positive thinking'. Anyone can practice positive thinking, but only a child of God can practice God-thinking. Positive thinking is when we consciously choose to nurture and court the things that produce uplifting, encouraging and motivating thoughts. And just the same, positive thinking requires that we remove or disregard the things that produce depressing, demoralizing or demeaning thoughts.

Positive thinking gets results because the principles used are universal - created and designed for all mankind. But, unlike positive thinking or different from positive thinking, God-thinking utilizes all the components of positive thinking, plus one additional component, God Himself. That one component is a big one."

Thought for the day

"Hear me and agree with me if you can. The world has had its turn. It has had its turn in the government, in the school system, in politics, in the media, in the work-place, in society. The world has messed up everything it gets its hands on. It pollutes, because it is missing one component, God Himself.

Now it's your turn. God thinking will not only take you to your desired goal, but it will get you there with peace and joy in your heart. God thinking will satisfy your hunger for intellectual stimulation more than positive thinking could ever dream to do.

And if that's not enough - God thinking will place you in the center of God's will for your life - where God's supernatural intervention is second nature - where answered prayer resides and miracles are anticipated with open arms."

Thought for the day

"Faith - removes any and all distance between God and you.
Belief - removes any and all doubt about the things of God.

Together, faith initiates into action what belief brings to the table. But, the thread that takes what we believe and by faith accomplish its intended goal, is God thinking. In other words - you have a dream or a goal - a desire - something you really want to see accomplished in your life. You've come to the place where you believe it is possible, and you have the faith to see it through. OK. What is the next step? How do I get from point A to point B - And maintain my lifestyle - My family time - My job - My responsibilities?

The answer is, God thinking. God thinking will take what you believe you can do - And by faith, take what you purpose to do, and provide all the necessary components to receive it, in God's time. But God thinking is more that just the thread that binds faith with believing and receiving. God thinking is about the way we think.

Thought for the day

"The question shouldn=t be Awhy do bad things happen to good people?@ The question should be, Awhat are we going to do with what God allowed to happen?@  The former way of thinking about the valleys of life cause us to doubt God.  God thinking causes us to trust God."

Thought for the day

"Let's take a quick look at some of the principles that are the building blocks of God thinking.

1. Time expended is of no consequence. We need to be careful not to put much of our time thinking about the things of the past. It is not profitable to wallow in the mire of past things.

2. We are a direct result of God. Understanding the connection between God and man and learning how to operate in that connection is essential in our quest to reach our goals, dreams, breakthroughs, answered prayers, true success.

3. For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he. This verse has a profound meaning, hidden by centuries of misinterpretation. This verse speaks clearly about the way a man thinks, and really has nothing to do with what he thinks himself to be.

The 4th principle may be the most important of all. This is one of those must remember principles of God thinking.

4. God is not the author of bad things.

Thought for the day

"What God is doing right now is the biggest move of God since creation.  And, you and I have been called, by His foreknowledge to learn and practice God Thinking."  You will have more opportunity this year to accomplish your goals and dreams than ever before, because God Thinking teaches us to trust and believe in what God has created.  God Thinking puts us on God's time line, doing those things that will benefit us and those around us.  Together we are going to work, hand in hand with God, to fulfill His prophesy in us.  Amen

Thought for the day

"Being renewed in the spirit of our mind requires acquisition of the truth and the Truth is in Jesus.  Many people have found Jesus and found the Truth- and yet they live like they have only found a deed to some distant land.  It is in the renewing in the spirit of our mind that more than heaven is apprehended and understood.  It is this renewing in the spirit of our mind that we call God Thinking."

Thought for the day

"God has prepared by His Spirit the 'Mind of Christ.=  When you and I receive the wisdom of God through the Holy Spirit into our mind, we receive the 'Mind of Christ.=  The spirit that is in us is the receiver.  The natural man receives what is governed by natural law and the spiritual man receives what is governed by supernatural law.  The two stand in opposition because the natural man can neither understand, nor apprehend what the Spirit of God is doing in their life.

Thought for the day

"God is working toward your good.  God Thinking puts you in line and in the know with what God already foreknew you would accomplish.  God Thinking is the renewing your mind to think like the Mind of God.  It is not something to be afraid of or to be set aside as if we were unworthy.  It is to be embraced with all of our being.

Thought for the day

Today concentrate on God thoughts.  Her are some God Thoughts:

  • Thoughts of success...
  • Thoughts of giving to others...
  • Thoughts of getting understanding and wisdom from God...
  • Thoughts that plan ahead and carefully use the moments at hand...
  • Thoughts that foresee great things...
  • Thoughts that reach beyond our present circumstances...
  • Thoughts that require God's help...
  • Thoughts that fit being a child of God...
  • Thoughts that conform to what God has in Mind for us..."

Thought for the day

"God Thinking requires us to live on God's time line.  God is with the program.  He is very contemporary.  He is fully up to date, today and forever!  God is about TODAY and TOMORROW.  Nothing with God happens yesterday.  God Thinking requires less focus on where we've been (what we've done, what we have or haven't accomplished, what we've lost, or what could have been) and more focus on where we are today (where we are going, what we are going to do, what we can accomplish and who we can be)."

Thought for the day

Without understanding - without wisdom, the next thing I am going to tell you will have no efficacy. I'm going to expose the reason why things aren't better in your life and mine...
  • Why things are so hard...
  • Why there is so much apathy today...
  • Why it is so hard to get from point A to point B...
  • Why we have such a hard time getting what we are after...
Are you ready? It's all about the way you think.
You start God Thinking by carefully redefining the way you believe. In order to be successful and to serve God the way He wants you to, you cannot be believing wrong things. Wrong things such as :
  • Wrong thinking about yourself...
  • Wrong thinking caused by misinterpretation of God's truth...
  • Wrong thinking about the use of your time and energy...or..
  • Wrong thinking about your own stubbornness and disobedience."

Thought for the day

"Time expended is of no consequence. The time you have ahead of you far outweighs that which is behind you. A brief and fleeting moment used toward reaching your dreams or for the common good of others, has more value than all time that has already gone by. To wallow in despair or discouragement, when your goal and mine have already been thought out by a loving God, is a true sign of a lack of faith.

Time does not care what you have done, where you have been, who you have been, or how you have done it.

  •  Time awaits you and me as if we were perfect.
  •  Time shows no prejudice.
  •  Time singles out no one to favor them.
  •  Time gives no advantage to the rich.
  •  No preference to the cunning...
  •  No judgement of merit...
  •  No pre-qualification needed...
  •  Time does not distort itself to advantage or disadvantage anyone.
If time were clay - you are the potter.

Thought for the day

"Time is not fleeting, like some think, but plentiful.  There isn't too little time, but just the right amount of time.  Your flesh and mine say, No way!, that's just hype-talk.  However,  when we are on God's time line, we have plenty of time to accomplish everything that God has pre-ordained or predetermined.  God Thinking gets us on God's time line."

Thought for the day

"Since time began, God has used His creation to bring you about and to bless you. God's plan is perfect and it includes you and me. You are in it right now. You are the direct result of God. You cannot blame God when things go awry - when things go wrong or when sickness, disease, pain, suffering, indiscretions, sin, wickedness and death come your way.  It would be like blaming the potter every time you drop a dish.

The creator has done a perfect job and continues to do so. We (humankind) have not stayed true to our creator."

"Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:  By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.  And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;  And patience, experience; and experience, hope:  And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us."
