Thought for the Day II

"God has revealed through His Word that He wants you to allow His written Word to come to life, in you and through you. Every aspect of life that requires God's supernatural intervention, is performed by God, while He abides, (lives within) you. If this is not enough motivation for you to live by God's Word, nothing else can keep you.

  • Being motivated by your circumstances will not keep you.
  • Being motivated by fear will not keep you.
  • Being motivated by obligation will not keep you.
  • Being motivated by pardon will not keep you.
Being motivated by (God in you), that will keep you.  Now, can you see God?"

Thought for the Day II

"I want you to sense with me the awesomeness of God.  God Thinking demands that you think of God, thoughts that image God as He is.  Know for certain, the only way you can even be the temple where God resides is if Christ Himself came and prepared a place for the Father.  Christ came and purified His house of prayer, by His atoning sacrifice.  The scripture says,@Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?@  1 Corinthians 3:16.  The scripture says, AWhat? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?  V20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God=s@  1 Corinthians 6:19-20

Christ did not invade you. He comes by invitation. Once Christ comes to you and prepares your temple for entrance of the Holy Spirit, He charges you to take care of the temple. You do this by being:

  • "renewed in the spirit of our mind" - Eph 4:23.
  • "washed of water by the Word" - Eph. 5:26
  • "led by the Spirit of God" - Romans 8:15
Jesus changes the way you see God, when you use your temple to worship and serve God. When your temple becomes the house of prayer, you labor, not in vain, "For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building." 1 Corinthians 3:9.

Thought for the Day II

"You are called to a pre-occupation with God, a certain getting caught up in the things of God.  Jesus came to His disciples as found in Matthew 26:40, and finds them asleep, and He said unto Peter, AWhat, could ye not watch with Me one hour?@  Do you think Jesus asks too much?

You have to forget about your circumstances for just a moment.  You have to set aside any differences in theology you might have for something better, unity in worship.  Whatever it is that is on your mind, if it isn=t spelled JESUS...Let it go.  There=s one thing that can take you beyond yourself and your circumstances and that is to praise the name of Jesus."

Excerpt from The Power of God Thinking II by Keith C. Powell Copyright 2012

Thought for the Day II

"Here's a truth worthy of evaluation: If you choose to modify God's Word (to fit what your mind and flesh think and feel would better fit your current lifestyle than what God says would be best), then you should also expect the results of your faith to be modified from God's purpose, to your will.

Every time you tweak God's Word for any purpose of your own, you also tweak the results of what God purposed, to become that of your own. Are you getting this down in your soul?

Can you take a few moments and give your undivided attention to God? Have you considered all that God is to you:
All He has done for you
All His blessings on you
All His protection for you
All His intervention on your behalf

Can you think of the holiness of God for a moment? Take this time and think the highest and most profound thought you can of your Savior.

Can you thank God for His tender mercies?

Can you thank God for His grace?

Can you give God honor due His Name?

Can you allow the Spirit of God to reveal more of Himself to you today than yesterday?

Can you give the LORD a shout?

Thought for the Day II

"Paul says in 2 Corinthians 13:5, "Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves; prove your on selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?"

Here's the test.
  • Is God more precious to you today than He was ten years ago?
  • Do you lean on God more and more for help and comfort than you used to?
  • Do you trust God more than you used to?
  • Do we seek the scriptures to find enlightenment more than you used to?
  • Do you believe God more than you used to?
  • Have you become closer to God over the last few years, months, weeks, days, hours?
  • Are the simple truths in God's Word becoming unveiled?
  • Is the Bible easier to understand than it used to be?
  • Do you sense God's presence more than before?
  • Are you seeking God early in your decisions?
  • Is your faith able to believe things it once used to reject?
  • Do you have a thirst for God that cannot be satisfied with a little religious rhetoric?
  • Do you enjoy the gathering together of the saints for fellowship?
  • Do you desire to be in the presence of God?
  • Do you pray more than you used to?
  • Have your prayers changed from, gimme this and gimme that, to, not my will, but Thine be done?
  • Are you hungry to experience more of God?
  • Do you Exalt God more than ever before?
  • Have you come to terms with the narrow path?
  • Are you sure that the name of Jesus is the only name by which we must be saved?
  • Do you take time out to thank God for all He has done for you?
  • Have you asked God to reveal to you what your ministry is?
There are so of the many things that happen in you and through you when God is in you.

Excerpt from The Power of God Thinking II by Keith C. Powell Copyright 2012

Thought for the Day II

"God reveals Himself to you through His Word so that when God abides in you, (makes His residence in you), you would know how to prepare His residence for Him. I hope you are getting this. The only way you will ever be what you were made to be is when you willingly prepare the temple of the Holy Spirit for God to reside/abide in. The only way that you will ever have a correct view of God, so that you can prepare your temple for Him, is when you are willing to abandon your religious view of God. You need to have a Majestic view of God.

Some of us have put more stock in what man has said about God than what God has said about God.

Are you going to hang on to erroneous beliefs about God or are you going to believe what God has said about Himself? God wants you to trust Him so that you can keep the temple of the Holy Spirit prepared/up to date with what God is doing. God trusts you so much that He allows you to self evaluate your faith to determine if you are growing in Christ and representing God with your whole being."

Excerpt from The Power of God thinking II by Keith C. Powell Copyright 2012

Thought for the Day II

"Whatever you are thinking that God accepts, (as pertains to your lifestyle, what you allow to come into you, what you participate in, what kind of TV you allow in your home, what you think about, where you go, what you do, what you believe), whatever it is, God accepts and sanctifies what He has already spoken that He will do, nothing more, nothing less.

God does not condescend to meet man to assist him in not doing the will of the Father.

To the contrary, God abides in you so you can ascend to meet God to do the will of the Father. That's why the unsaved world cannot do the will of God, because God does not abide in them, to do His will. Every Word spoken by God, which clearly defines the will of God, has within it the attribute of eternity. All else is vanity. All else is for a season. All else will run its course and die. That's why God has declared Himself in His Word. That's why God declares Himself in you and through you. God reveals Himself to you by His Word. And when you believe what God says about Himself, God can perform what He has spoken to you, through you.  Isn't that wondeful?

Excerpt from The Power of God Thinking II by Keith C. Powell Copyright 2012

Thought for the Day II

"God gave us His Word to prepare us to meet Him and through the Word of God we come to know God. But once we come to know God He abides is us. John 14:23 says, "Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love Me, He will keep My Words: and My Father will love him, and We will come unto him, and make our abode with Him." Abode is literally, 'place of residence, a staying.' Now, to those who have been born again God's Word reveals to us God, who abides in us. God reveals to us how God is going to live in us and through us.

I don't think you have got this. God speaks to you in His Word, about what He is going to do through you, by His Word. Catch this: What God has spoken in His Word, about what God has purposed for your life, He will do, in you and through you, by His Word. In other words, God has already spoken to you, what God is going to do in you and through you.

What God has purposed you for, God is preparing you for. What God has prepared you for, God will participate in. By abiding in you, God ensures success in what God has prepared you for."

Thought for the Day II

  • "Nothing strains our soul, distresses our body and confuses our mind more than a low and unworthy image of God.
  • Nothing builds us up, nourishes our soul, heals our bodies, and purifies our mind more than a high and lofty view of God, in Christ, by the Holy Spirit.
  • Nothing can bring satisfaction, pleasure and personal fulfillment like seeking and finding God's holy presence.
  • Nothing compares to the knowledge of God, nothing.
Failure to understand God perpetuates confusion and apathy, even in the Christian. God did not make it difficult to understand His ways, but between satan lying to us and fighting against us, the world competing with God at every turn and religion advancing the cause of ‘lukewarmism’, God's profound and simple truths have been slighted. God gave us His Word and that is a beautiful and wonderful gift to be compared with nothing; but God gave us something even better than His Word; He gave us Himself."

Thought for the Day II

"The wicked exact terror against anyone who doesn't agree with their evil ways.
The wicked do not understand their value.
The wicked do not give honor and respect to God, their creator.

The wicked have free will to do evil, just as we have freewill to do good.

All of us deal with evil differently, but it's time to take a stand for God and quit patronizing the world. The world has been blaming God for everything that has gone wrong since the Garden of Eden. Let the world continue to crucify our Savior, but for you and me, "only believe."

Thought for the Day II

"You have a reason to bless the LORD even with all that God allows. God has allowed you access to His throne, insight into His plan, direct communication with God, and God also reveals the future to you so you are totally in the know. The life that you have been entrusted with is so special. Your life have such great value. God made you in His own image. God made all things beautiful. God makes everything work together for your good.

You have life because God gave you life according to His good pleasure. You dont have to have life, you know. You did not create yourself. God made you with great value, so great, it was worth sacrificing His own Son for you, but many people map out a plan for their life that doesn't reflect their true value. Don't be one of those who overlook just how wonmderful it is to be entrusted with the gospel in your life.

Thought for the Day II

"God thinking is about thinking with the mind of Christ. The mind of Christ doesn't say, "What can I do?, I'm too old." I'm glad that Noah and Abraham and Moses didn't think that way. If you think you cannot have the mind of Christ it's because you believe what the enemy says.  God says, "Put on the mind of Christ." If you are thinking, "I’m too young" or "I don’t have enough education" or any other excuse for not allowing God to work in you and through you, then you are not believing God, because God says, "Put on the mind of Christ."

Here are some of the principles of God thinking that can really help you to use your freewill to the glory of God, and also help your faith to grow, to think:
  • High and lofty thoughts of God.
  • Thoughts too wonderful to be fully understood.
  • Thoughts about the awesomeness of God.
  • Thoughts that reflect your trust in God's plan.
  • Thoughts of how God made the stars and occasionally throws one across the sky just for you to admire.

Thought for the Day II

"All of us get frustrated when evil seems to have won a victory. David cried out to God,  "How long, how long shall the wicked, how long shall the wicked triumph?  They break in pieces thy people, O LORD, and afflict thine heritage.  They slay the widow and the stranger, and murder the fatherless.”  Psalm 94:4-6 And the question is answered in Psalm 145:20, "The LORD preserveth all them that love Him: but all the wicked will He destroy."

For those who choose to ignore the voice of God and turn their mind and heart to fight against God and God's people, there is a price. Don't think that God is not going to avenge the righteous and the innocent. Hear the Word of the Lord. Psalm 9:17, "The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all nations that forget God." and in Psalm 34:16, "The face of the LORD is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth."

God's plan allows for men to harden their hearts against Him, and when they do, there is no end to the horror that ungodly people can do. God's plan allows for men to turn to Him and love Him, and when they do, there is no end to the great things that godly people can do. Let's let God be God, but let's allow God to be God in us and through us. When we do, then we can find our place, and by choice, fulfill our calling.

Thought for the Day II

"Once you have apprehended, with understanding this profound truth (that God is not the author of bad things) - Once you visualize that God operates His will in you and through you - Once you understand that satan operates in and through those without Christ - Events like that on 911 reveal the battle for the souls of mankind, fought here on earth. It's not a pretty picture.

The truth: God allows evil to operate on earth; to thwart, to maim, to kill and destroy.

  • You are not puppet on a string.
  • You are not forced to obey God.
  • You are not clones without self-awareness.
If you think that God should have stopped the actions of the terrorist or other terrible events in your life, then you must also think that God should stop you from making or having your choices of love and kindness.

God will put an end to evil, but not yet. Freewill serves both good and evil. God's foreknowledge knows the actions of mankind, both the good and the evil, but God will not breach the right of one to protect the right of another, for God is no respecter of persons."

Thought for the Day II

"The same way that God allows you and I to make decisions to go this way or that way, to stay in England or to move to America, to get married or stay single, to go out to eat or to go home to eat; whatever it is that you enjoy about having and operating in freewill is the same freedom that those without Christ operate in. It is the same freewill that you enjoy and praise God for that others use to do wicked things and fight against God.

Catch this, because this is one of those statements that makes sense and teaches your inner man something new. For God to avert the wicked from their wickedness, He would have to avert the Christian from their love and adoration for Him, also. In a world, where the freewill of mankind is the modus operandi that all of us operate under, the question shouldn’t be, "How could a loving God allow such wicked things happen?" The question should be, "With the life that God has given me, and living in an appointed time such as this, what am I going to do with what God has allowed to happen?"

Thought for the Day II

"More of satan's seeds of doubt:"

"How could a loving God allow such a wicked and terrible thing, like the terrorist attacks at the twin towers, the Pentagon and the plane over Philadelphia, happen?" And, "God brought this tragedy as judgement against His people."

You need to know deep down in your heart, Our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ was not responsible for 911 or any other tragedy. God did not bring on this kind of tragedy to awaken America or awaken anybody. God did not allow this kind of wickedness to penetrate our country and deeply affect the lives of tens of thousands of people to get our attention. God played no role in the preparation of this attack, as if, because America has not taken the right action on protecting the innocent unborn, God would punish the innocent. God doesn't terrorize innocent men, women and children to teach them, try them or test them. God does not aim airplanes at people to raise awareness, cause people to believe in Him, prove His power, or for any other reason. God does not do these things.

Are we altogether clear on this issue? I hope so, because until you get erroneous thinking out of your mind, there is no place for God thinking."

Thought for the Day II

"Heres a few false statements, seeds planted by satan every time wicked seems to prevail. Let's meet them head on and build within us, faith based upon truth, to stand against the wiles of the wicked. One of the things that satan says every time someone dies, is: Where is your God now? Every time satan can plant a seed of doubt, he's going to do it, and when death comes, without reason, out of due time, there is soil for the doubt seed to grow.

If that happened to you, you need to say, "stop". God says in Psalm 116:15 "Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of His saints." Jesus says in Matthew 28:20b, "I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world." And in the words of Paul, found in 1 Corinthians 15:54-55, "So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. V55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?" And in Genesis 50:20, "But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive."

Thought for the Day II

"Your enemy is a liar"

There are many tragic events that take place during our lives and I believe that we need to learn how to get closer to God during these times. We need insight and wisdom as to how God operates during these times. We also need closure on the untruths that are purported by our enemy during these awful times.

I believe that we need closure on the 911 crises and wisdom about how God operates concerning evil. We need closure; not to forget the tragedy, not to forget the pain and suffering of others, not to make light of one of the worst acts of evil ever done to man.

We need closure on the untruths, that satan circulates:
  • When innocent blood is shed
  • When evil shows its ugly head
  • When the enemies of God strike against the lovers of God
  • When the wicked men under satan's rule, do things that defy description
  • When our own family or friends do the despicable
There is so much false, foolish and unsupported rhetoric that is circulated when things like the horror of 911 take place. For your faith to grow and reach beyond your circumstances, you need answers. Not just answers to what happened, but you need answers to meet the struggles and challenges that lie ahead."

Thought for the Day II

"God has provided you with ALL that you need:

  • To protect you from danger
  • To protect you from future calamity
  • To keep you from being deceived
  • To empower you with wisdom
  • To provide you with understanding
  • To meet your daily needs
  • To give you the desires of your heart
If you are to have hope, it must be, in that you already possess the Spirit of God and the knowledge of the Holy.  The Bible and the indwelling Holy Spirit clearly defines the high road and they clearly define the low road. The scriptures and the indwelling Holy Spirit reveal God. They reveal God's will for mankind. The scriptures and the indwelling Holy Spirit reveal the pattern for the lives of the men, women and children of God, and they reveal the pattern of the lives of those who have not the Spirit of God also.

The scriptures and the Holy Spirit reveal your measure of faith and your level of trust in God."

Thought for the Day II

"The whole of scripture and the indwelling Holy Spirit point us toward God:

  • How to find God - How to get to know God
  • How to know more of God - How to receive from God
  • How to receive God - How to follow God
  • How to be in God - How to go deeper with God
The Bible is the how to book of God.

I'm not trying to sell you on the Bible. I hope you already know it is the way of life. I'm trying to reiterate how important it is for you to place yourself in alignment with what God has said, so that you can live out your life with faith and expectations, trust and the security of knowing that God is on your side."

Thought for the Day II

"Many people start out in their faith with a burst of spiritual awareness, and quickly fall back into the less inspired life. Some of us start out with good intentions, big dreams and a sure sense of the presence of God. But over time we have fallen prey to the enticements of the world, and we begin to make excuses for what once was a real and deliberate act of our will to love to serve Almighty God with faith and trust and commitment.

Why is it so important to listen to God anyway? Let's look at some of the reasons it is important to listen to what God is saying to us and keep on track with His plan for our life.

First of all, God's way works. I wish you could get really excited about living your life to glorify God. God really does know best. Your creator is fully aware of every component and aspect of your life. Based on God's knowledge of you and His foreknowledge of you, God provided you with a written manual and an inner manual to live by. Within the written manual and the inner manual contain all the pertinent information needed:
  • To secure a quiet and peaceful life
  • To realize your dreams
  • To hone your skills
  • To perfect your talent
  • To find God
  • To get to know God better"

Thought for the Day II

"If you are at peace with God today, it is very likely that you are listening to God and following the leading of the Holy Spirit. Just the same, if you are not at peace with God, you are probably not listening to God and not following the leading of the Holy Spirit - or listening to God - hearing from God - hearing clearly what God is communicating - clearly getting the message - or simply not conforming to it.

It is possible, that what you think you want, or what you have rationalized is OK, does not fit in with God's plan for your life. What I have noticed in the collective body of Christ and what is prophesied through the Word of God concerning the times we are in, is a great increase of those who talk the talk and a great decrease in those who walk the walk."

Thought for the Day II

"There are three principles that you have to work with that entwine God's Word with your faith to weave a moral and spiritual fabric inside your heart, that gives you assurance that you are abiding in the truth.

Romans 1:17 "For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith."  We read in Psalms 18:2, “The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.” And in Proverbs 16:3, “Commit thy works unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established.”

you can operate in the principles and truths of God's Word by:

Your measure of faith - (which is revealed by your level of trust) and increased by God in you in direct proportion to your use of it

Your level of trust in God - (which is revealed by your current condition) given by you to God and increased in direct proportion to your daily actions

Your commitment to the things of God - (Which is revealed by your response to God's principles) and increased by acknowledging, understanding and doing that which please God."

Thought for the Day II

"Each of us, should take what we have apprehended, (in other words the principles that we have heard, understand and practice) and go through each week, putting to work the principles and truths of God's Word.  Isn't that a simple and practical approach to living out our Christian life?

Just a side note: Not everyone has heard the principles that bring us in alignment with God. Aren’t you fortunate that God allows you to hear the Words that can change your life?

You are learning to and practicing putting the principles of God to work - not to test them or to prove them - because those who have faith already know the principles of God work. You put them (the principles of God to work) so that you can test your own faith and prove yourself and benefit from the workings of God's pre-ordained principles to live by."

Thought for the Day II

"If you are at peace with the decisions you are making, you are probably putting to practice the simple and profound truths that you have learend and accepted as truth from God. In our study of God Thinking, we have talked about many principles:
  • Principles of faith and belief
  • Principles of giving and receiving
  • Principles of focusing on God, praise and worship
  • Principles of seeking and apprehending God
  • We have talked about being on the outside (the outer court).
  • We have talked about being on the inside (the inner court).
  • We have talked about being in His Presence (the holy of holies)
  • We have discussed being empowered, filled, set free and walking in the spirit.
I have heard testimony upon testimony of how God has been faithful to do that He says He will do. Can you take a few minutes and express your love and adoration to God for "How great and wonderful God is?” Please stay true to this main theme, “How great and wonderful God is.”
  • You must praise and worship God.
  • You must seek the mind of Christ.
  • You must draw close to God, so close that you can sense His presence.
Think on putting on the thing of God. AOn top@, (in your mind) and pushing everything else, (the things that
do not glorify God) down and finally out of your life."
