Getting To Know God Better 39

By humility and the fear of the LORD are riches, and honour, and life.
Pro. 22:4

I'm just wondering, are you one of those people who think that those who are rich or have more than they need should have it taken away? There are many today on the left that are bent on redistributing wealth and forcing people to do things with their money that they do not want to do and who think awful thoughts toward people who have substance. There are many that harass those who have an abundance all the while acting like they care for the poor and just want equality. They are not to be trusted.

If you read the scriptures you will find more references than you can read in a week concerning riches and the responsibilities that go along with possessing more than necessary. But the mandate is internal and up to each individual what to do about the dilemma of having too much. Of course good advise is to share it, but God has much more interest in how one accumulated their wealth and the hold it has on them than how much wealth they have. It is the love and self-aggrandizement and poor choices that people make that interest God, but God speaks clearly that having wealth or accumulating wealth through a right means is a good thing and to be practiced.

I don't like people who try to take things away from other people. It is a kind of thievery. Wanting what someone else has is a loathsome occupation. And trying to enact laws that take wealth from one person and give it to another is not a godly thing. You can fault the rich if you like, but what I have found in my study/journey is that most wealthy people are far more generous than the non-wealthy, and I don't mean in dollars, I mean is how much of what they have that they give to others in need freely, without being coerced, without being heckled or forced by some law.

It never was man's/woman's responsibility to rob from the rich and give to the poor. That is God's territory. Those who abuse God's territory and try to be a god among themselves have very little insight into the heart of God. But they do it because of peer pressure and to make people think more highly of them than they should. After all it doesn't take much class to take something away from someone else and give it to another someone else at no expense to yourself. I know I don't want that kind of person governing my country.
