God Thinking XII - Are You Faithful Or Just Religious? 9

"There is an old saying, “Be careful what you pray for, you might just get it”, insinuating that God could give you what you asked for, even if it were not ultimately for your good.

It is not true.  It has never been true. God does not give you what is not good for you, nor does God punish you for praying wrongly or selfishly.  God will not fulfill that which is against His express will.

James 1:17, “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.”

I want to share with you why it is so important that you get this truth straight.

Becoming faithful or becoming more faithful to God does not  cost you more money.
  • It does not take any more of your time.
  • It does not require any special duties to the church.
  • It does not ask for something you do not have.
  • You do not need more books.
  • You need nothing more than what you already have.

You need only respond when God calls.
Note: I know, seems really ridiculously simple, artless, undermanding. The problem is, it is the plan of God. Think about it; If you are not going to respond favorably when God speaks to you, are you thinking that your life/lifestyle will be the same as if you did respond favorably when God speaks to you? God knows in advance your intention and answer. Are you serving the god that makes determinations based on your response. That is a made up religious god and not to be confused with Almighty God. You only get called if you are going to answer."
