Not more like Christ as if we could ever be more righteous before
God than the moment we accept the free gift of salvation.
But more like Christ:
In the way we liveIn the way we talk
In the way we provide for our family
In the way we raise our children
In the way we worship God
In the way we become submissive to God’s Holy will
In the way we trust.....God
In the way we believe God
In the way we exercise our faith
In the way we respond when under pressure
In the way we act in secret places
You don’t
become more like Christ so you can earn your way into heaven. Entrance to heaven is not for sale. It is by invitation only.
You don’t
become more like Christ so you can become a religious icon, a spectacle of sorts
that others can look at as if you were better than someone else. If you are drawing others to Christ to lift
yourself up, or to give yourself recognition, or to elevate your ego, you are
not growing up in grace and
becoming more like Christ. You are
growing away from the original intent of being a Christian; which is to be
endowed with the characteristics and properties of Christ;
-
To follow in the footsteps of Jesus.
- To live out what God created us for.
- To listen to God and then move forward and obey His voice.
