"
In worship and praise, through prayer and
supplication, the question of “whom are we worshiping?”, must arise. Questions like “who is this God?” and “What
does God look like?” must arise out of the desire to know our creator.
Our intellect has created an image of God in
our mind and it is this image that reigns over all else. A poor image of God, a false image of God, an
undesirable image of God, any image made by mankind apart from the revelation
of God Himself, by faith, by the indwelling Spirit - is untrue of God.
None of us can accurately described Holy God,
only God Himself, and we receive understanding by faith. And when God reveals Himself to us by faith,
we, like the prophets, fall to our knees is reverence of His unicity.
Nothing is like our God and nothing to be
compared. That is why the scriptures say
to us in 1 Corinthians 2:9-13
9But as it
is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the
heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. 10But
God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth
all things, yea, the deep things of God. 11For what man knoweth the
things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of
God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. 12Now we have received,
not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know
the things that are freely given to us of God. 13Which things also
we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy
Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual."
