1st Do we believe God said this in His Word?
2nd Do we believe that this word is true?
3rd Do we understand, by the Holy Spirit the
wisdom of the principle?
Psalm 37:3-5
“Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the
land, and verily thou shalt be fed.
V4 Delight thyself also in the LORD; and HE shall give thee
the desires of thine heart.
V5 Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in Him; and He
shall bring it to pass.”
Only one thing can stand between you and the fulfillment of
the Word, your personal resistance.
Resistance
is what has kept God and the fulfillment of God’s promises just an arms length
away.
God has
spoken into existence many beautiful promises, some that you have received and
some you have not yet received.
It’s
true, you have at times resisted God.
Sometimes when it really mattered that you trust Him¼
When you
resisted God and when you resist Him now, here’s what happens:
Because
you are made in the image and likeness of God – You can create too.
When you
create and what you create is by permission from God through free will.
You can
create in God’s will or out of God’s will – And whatever you create must run its
course.
As you
come to a greater knowledge of God’s will in your life, sometimes you want to
stop the motion of what you already created.
In other
words, you found a new and better way and you want to do away with the old way
and get on with the new. This is a good
thing, but sometimes it is like a ten car pileup in dense fog. You stop, but what you have already created
must run its course, for better or for worse. (I know this might hurt a little, but ignoring reality is far more painful in the long haul)
That’s
why – When you come to Christ for the first time or when you have a new awakening
– Even though you recognize the beauty of the Lord – And your sins have been
forgiven – And you are a new creation – It takes time for the holiness of God to
repair or rehabilitate what you have created. You become new, but your past creations must
run their course.
This is a
principle of God. It will always hold
true.
What God
wants from you, right now, is to make a commitment not to resist God’s Word for
you, now and in the future.
