Nothing is like our God and nothing to be
compared. That is why the scriptures say
to us in 1 Corinthians 2:9-13
9But as it
is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the
heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. 10But
God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth
all things, yea, the deep things of God. 11For what man knoweth the
things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of
God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.
God was not made in our image and likeness,
we were made in His image and likeness.
If we are going to have a right view of God, it will have to be a faith
view.
Hebrews 11:1 tells us about this view.
Hebrews 11:1, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped
for, the evidence of things not seen.”
If faith is the evidence, then faith alone
can provide a right view of God. Every
religion in the world has tried to explain God and bring God into subjection to
their thinking. It cannot be done. The true test of faith, is your view of God
based on God having revealed Himself to you, not once, but often. You need more revelation of God, from
God.
When you try to imagine what God is like, you must of necessity rely on that which is not God to do so, therefore whatever you visualize God to be, He is not. You have
constructed out of creation that which made creation.
It’s like this: If you drew a picture of
yourself and then looked at it, would that picture look like you? Yes, if you were a good artist.
Now let’s let the picture have a crack at it, what would it look like?
Our intellect falls short of being able to
create a true and
proper image of God. But by faith, you can receive from God a true
and proper image of God."
