The Bible tells us to go
into our closet to pray.
Matthew 6:6, But
thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy
door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in
secret shall reward thee openly.
For many of us, to go into
the closet with God we will have to clean out that closet. Just try to get into a closet when it is full
of stuff. Do you have a closet
that is full of stuff?
It is the same with your
prayer closet in the inner man. You can't get into the prayer
closet with your inner man if it is full of stuff. I want you to get a sense of approval from
God on this issue - It's OK to dump some of that
stuff:
Some of the unused
and in some cases, unfit
stuff
to make room for pure
Christ.
You wouldn't throw a treasure from
God into your junk drawer or cluttered closet would you? But we do.
We take the very breath of God and
mix it with so many lesser things.
What happens to you when you have been taught things that are not from God?
What happens when you pass
that information on to others?
One of our country's great maladies is to
recycle bad information. It comes to us
warped and we hold onto it like it is truth.
In many cases we don't even verify it before we
act upon it.
What do you think has
happened to the body of Christ, over the centuries, if those who have not
confirmed, taught what was not been confirmed as if it were the very Word of
God?
Let me ask you, what
happens when you mix some truth with some falsity? The good information is skewed, lessened,
reduced from its intended efficacy."
