The
rapture, (the catching up of the saints) or the
end of the church age.
Then
there is the battle of Armegeddon which ends the great tribulation.
Then
there is the end of the millennial Kingdom of Christ.
Then
there’s the end of satan.
There’s
also the great white throne judgement, which is the end of the unbelieving
world.
And the end
of the earth and the elements as we know it.
But the
last event prophesied is the beginning of a new dispensation,
one that goes beyond our comprehension and therefore very little is told to us
about this glorious time of times. The
last event prophesied is:
The
introduction of a new heaven and a new earth.
Revelation
21:1-2
1. And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for
the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more
sea.
2. And
I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven,
prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
According
to most prophecy buffs, many leading theologians, as well as the leading
chronologists, and myself, believe that this event is in direct correlation to
the “REST of God”, (7) Seven being the number of God, which is referred
to in Genesis 2:1-4.
1. Thus the heavens and the earth were finished,
and all the
host of
them.
2. And
on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the
seventh day from all his work which he had made.
3. And
God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had
rested from all his work which God created and made.
4.
These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were
created, in the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens,"
The
seventh day of creation is often referred to as the seven thousand year of recorded time. 2 Peter 3:8 says.
8.
But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with
the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
Whether
you believe that the end of time as we know it and the beginning of the new
heaven and the new earth take place on the seventh day, (seven-thousandth year
of recorded time) makes no difference in recognition of where we are in
time.
It only
makes a difference in those who have questions about where we are in time in
relation to prophetic world events in
our lifetime.
But
before you disregard the importance of recognizing the times, hear what Jesus
says to those who didn’t think it mattered when He was here either.
1. The Pharisees also with the Sadducees came,
and tempting desired him that he would shew them a sign from heaven.
2. He
answered and said unto them, When it is evening, ye say, It will be fair
weather: for the sky is red.
3. And
in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowring.
O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the
signs of the times?
Instead
of guessing, how about if we just deal with the facts.
The last
event prophesied is:
The
introduction of a new heaven and a new earth.
Timeline:
Year 7,000 or around 3028 AD.
