God thinking XIII - Living To Your Full Potential 9

"We need each other.

We need our friends.

We need for our relationships to be the very best they can be.
We need our husbands and wives.
We need our fathers and mothers.
We need our parents and children.
But we need a right relationship with God if we are to ever experience a right relationship with our friends and family.

And this right relationship comes with personal experience.

Can you take a few moments and experience the presence of God, undisturbed by the din of a noisy home of office.

God is pleased when you exercise your faith.

Has God been tugging on you to break away from something?

Now is the time.  God Thinking requires that you move when God speaks to you.  If God is speaking to you, please acknowledge it.  Share in the experience of the freedom that comes with obeying God by living in His will and letting God work in you and through you, by you."

God thinking XIII - Living To Your Full Potential 8

"Let God have you.

You must be careful not to allow your experience with God to be less than it can be because you are trying to appease others.

It’s time to let God have His way with you.  Others have had their way long enough.
Don’t wait another day to break away from every negative statement, every faithless word, every man made doctrine, every word spoken against our faith and believe and trust God.

I wrote this portion over and over again, trying to leave out the sting that I kept feeling.  But again and again the Lord kept pressing me with His Word.

Matthew 10:32-38
V232 “Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.
V33 "But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.
V34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
V35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
V36 And a man’s foes shall be they of his own household.
V37 He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.
V38 And he that taketh not his cross and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.

God thinking XIII - Living To Your Full Potential 7

"If what you are hearing has been causing confusion, break away.

If you have friends that don’t honor God with their being, break away from their influence.

If you have something in your life that has control, then God doesn’t.  It’s time to break away - once and for all and separate yourself from that thing or that person that is throwing water on your wick.

If you have a husband or a wife, a father or mother, a son or daughter, that keep you from your spiritual best, break away (not from them as a person), but break away from their declining spiritual condition.  When you stand before God, only Christ will be there with you, not husband, wife, father, mother, son or daughter.  Draw nigh unto God, get alone with Him and He will give you peace.

God will enhance your relationship with your husband, wife, father, mother, son or daughter if you will break away and let God fill you up."

God thinking XIII - Living To Your Full Potential 6

Matthew 8:13
“And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee.  And his servant was healed in the selfsame hour.”

Now here’s something to get excited about!!!

1 Peter 1:3-5
“Blessed be the God and Father of our LORD Jesus Christ, which according to His abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.
V4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,
V5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.”

The Word speaks to your spirit.
The Word nourishes your spirit.
The Word empowers your spirit.

There are two reasons why I am putting so much emphasis on the generational inheritance of spiritual values.

1     Even if your spiritual heritage was/is excellent and even if those before us set a good example, and even if they taught all the right things and represented God with unflinching faith - You need to know that none of what someone else learned of God or did with God will be posted to your account.  In other words you and I must establish our own relationship with God by personal experience.  If your spiritual heritage was excellent it may have given you a good start, but the fulness of revelation for each generation must come by personal experience.

2     The second reason we are spending so much time on this subject - If those before you set a poor example or mis-represented the Word of God, you may have been taught things that are not true or worse.  If this is who went before you, you a will have to break away from these influences.  You will have to break away from these influences,  before you can establish on your own, a right relationship with God by personal relationship.

You can be nice about this, but you have got to break away from the words and attitudes that disarm or dilute God’s Holy Word.

God thinking XIII - Living To Your Full Potential 5

"God is looking for someone to break away from the mold and trust Him.
  • Someone who responds when God calls.
  • Someone who believes what God says.
  • Someone who will train his or her entire family in the things of God.
  • Someone that will not hide their faith.
  • Someone that makes a vow and keeps it.
  • Someone that isn’t in it for themselves.
  • Someone that means what they say.
You must not rest on the truth that was discovered by others.
You must search the scriptures and find truth for yourself.
  • It is your own experience with God that will determine:
  • Revealed truth.
  • Your walk with God.
  • Your faithfulness to the things of God.
  • Your ability to hear the voice of God.
  • The gifts you receive from God.
  • And the power and authority you receive from God.
Job 13:15
“Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him:...”
Psalm 25:1-2a
“Unto thee, O LORD, do I lift up my soul.
V2 O my God, I trust in thee;...”
Psalm 56:4
“In God I will praise His Word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me.”
Nahum 1:7
“The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust Him.”

Jeremiah 17:7-8
“Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is. V8 For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.”

I believe the LORD.  Can you receive what God is speaking in your spirit?

God thinking XIII - Living To Your Full Potential 4

"At the end of each generation’s life span rests the culmination, the accumulated sum, of revealed truth, for that generation.  It is this accumulated sum of revealed truth that builds the foundation for the next generation.

This is how religious philosophy/theology is handled.  Profound truths are revealed as they are discovered or unveiled.  And that revelation is passed on from generation to generation.

Psalm 145:3-4
“Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; and His greatness is unsearchable.
V4 One generation shall praise thy works to another, and shall declare thy mighty works.”

God bless those who endeavor to pass the baton with power, authority and integrity.

As each generation comes along, you must weed through what the previous generation discovered and gleam the gold and silver off the top and put it “on top” in your mind, and push down and away all that is dross, (the impurities).

Each generation of men and women accumulate rules, ordinances & precepts that fit their needs, times, circumstances & culture.  They sometimes move away from the original intent that God designed.  When this happens, religion is borne.

It is this constant cycle that each of us is faced with that we must overcome.

Can you transcend the cycle that births complacency in your worship and endorses ignorance through vain repetition?

If you cannot transcend this vicious and debilitating cycle, you are bound by default to repeat the errors of those before you."

God thinking XIII - Living To Your Full Potential 3

"Generation to generation to generation two things happen: First the faith of one is revealed to another and second the false beliefs and faithlessness of one is revealed to another.

There is a process that takes place in each generation that each of us participate in, knowingly or unknowingly.  Each generation of: Clergy - Philosophers - Teachers - Politicians - Fathers & Mothers, rear its leaders and arms them with the most profound truths that they have experienced.

If the generation before you experienced the presence of God, their experiences can provide you with a strong foundation on which to build your faith.

On the other hand, if the generation before you did not experience the presence of God, their experiences do little more than confuse you.

2 Timothy 2:15-16

“Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth.
V16 But shun profane and vain babbling: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.

From the experiences of those before you religion was borne.  But, in and through your own experiences religion must be set aside:

if you are to go further than those before you

if you are to pick up the torch and represent the truth

if you are to commune with God and respond to God

if you are to hear the voice of God

if you are to be in what God is doing in your generation

You must set aside the religion of your predecessors in exchange for personal experience."
