God Thinking XCVII - Crossroads 1

"What do you really want?
I ask this so that you can evaluate where you are in receiving what you want under the anointing of God.  You are under the anointing of God.

You want something, at least enough, that when you are asked what you want, it comes to you promptly.

You want something, actually a great many things.
When I asked, “What do you really want?” I imagine you thought of more than one thing.

But I want to take you beyond what you are currently seeking/wanting.

What I am going to talk about is not to take away from you getting what you want, or to take away from receiving from God, from His gracious storehouse of blessings.

But the truth is, that until you seek God as the object of your affection, not only will you not get what you want, but even if you do get what you want, it will lose its savor quickly - because it falls short of God’s best and all that falls short of God’s best is not in God’s plan for your life."

Note: I hear the response now. 'What if what I want it is not in God's plan for my life - Does that mean that there is something wrong with it?' The question answers itself. If you don't know if what you want is in God's plan for your life, shouldn't finding that out be first in order of relevance? Anything less than something God would bless is short-lived, at best and possibly harmful to you and others around you or catastrophic at worst.

God Thinking XCVI - Getting Your Unbelief Under Control 10

"We mustn’t be complacent and apathetic, living like you don’t have a Savior - afraid of what the world will think - worried about every little thing.
The cares of this world have brought many a good man and woman to ruin.

You should be rejoicing that God has not left you here alone and powerless to fend for yourself.

Awaken young sons and daughters of the Almighty and stake claim to your rightful deed:
Peace and joy in the Lord
Comfort and reparation in the Holy Spirit
Mercy and Grace are your inheritance

You are found, not lost.
You are a conquerer, not conquered.
You have something to shout about.
You have the Word of God in you.

As a pastor, I want to invite you, at this crossroad in time, to take a hard look at your life:
  • Not to discomfort you - although when God gets His way in you sometimes your comfort level is disrupted.
  • Not to make you feel remorse - although, you and I both know that when we sense the stir, the unction of the Holy Spirit, sometimes the pain of remorse for our lack of passion towards our Savior.
I want to invite you, at this crossroad in time, to take a hard look at your life:

Because God has called me to do this thing.

This turn that you are about to make is a milestone in your spiritual walk with God."

God Thinking XCVI - Getting Your Unbelief Under Control 9

  • "Who could expect so much from you?
  • Who could call you to step out in faith, to be true and loyal to a Holy God?
  • Who could perceive that you could have even half a chance of success?
  • Who would call you out of the world while making you live in the world?
  • Who could be so bold as to suggest that your faith is to be more than mere religion?
  • Who would ask you to further embarrass your fragile ego, by believing beyond your past experiences?
  • Who could ask you to come up higher, knowing that you have bills to pay and people to impress?
  • Who could expect you to go against the tide and stand for something wonderful and grand?
  • Who could expect you to have faith, abiding faith?
  • Who could expect from you more than you already give?
  • Who could expect you to deny your flesh, when you are so much flesh?
Only someone who knows what it is like to wear the body.
Only someone who has been there.
Only someone who can see beyond the moment.
Only someone who has been beaten with more stripes than you, could ask so much of you.
Only Jesus the righteous One has the right to ask you to stake your life on a Word.

By His birth you were given a Savior.
By His life you were given an example.
By His death you were set free from bondage.
By His blood you were bought with a price.
By His burial you escaped hell.
By His resurrection you were empowered.
By His ascension you have won the victory.

What else could you possibly want?

God Thinking XCVI - Getting Your Unbelief Under Control 8

"God’s Holiness resonates in your soul.  The inner man is listening intently and your mind is agreeing that the things of God are good for you and need to be nurtured and the things of this world are not good for you and need to be carefully, but quickly reduced and then discarded.

God Thinking is about this process of making decisions at the crossroads.

See, whether you want to be at this crossroad today or not, is not an option.  In God’s timing the whole earth and the whole universe move into their place in their time.

And God is calling you to come up hither.  And to bring your will with you, not only to experience the unveiling of revelation, (which is beautiful), but also to experience the freedom that comes with obeying God and the power that comes with a yielded inner man.

Once you can identify unbelief for the enemy it really is, you can ask God to give you wisdom to overcome and God will.  God speaks to you clearly:

 5.  If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
 6.  But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
 7.  For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.
 8.  A double minded man is unstable in all his ways. James 1:5-8

God Thinking XCVI - Getting Your Unbelief Under Control 7

"God doesn’t strengthen the inner man so that the Spirit  can continue to lose the battle against the flesh.

If you are just plain tired of the battle - if you are just plain worn out fighting the battle between the glory of God in the Spirit and the mundaneness of submission to the flesh.

If you are always wondering why things seem so hard.
It’s time to trust God with your inner man.

Don’t let this moment go by.  The inner man is the receptacle  that houses the Spirit of God within you and it is the inner man that will decide today just how much of the whole man that you are going to give over to God for use.

14.  For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
 15.  Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,
 16.  That He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might by His Spirit in the inner man;
 17.  That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,
 18.  May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;
 19.  And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.
 20.  Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,

Today, you have been brought to a crossroad.  What you do after you read this, will be the determining factor in the results - the outcome - of your entire future."

God Thinking XCVI - Getting Your Unbelief Under Control 6

"Ephesians 3:14-20
 14.  For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
 15.  Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,
 16.  That He would grant you, (now you have got to get this down in your believer - down in the depths of your heart - down in the roots where you are truly strengthened and held up.  The you in this verse is you.  You are the person that God is speaking to.  Even though I am speaking to more than one person, each person is the one person that God is addressing in this verse) That He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might by His Spirit in the inner man;
  • This inner man is the one who hears the voice of God.
  • This inner man is the one who knows right from wrong.
  • This inner man is the one who has been bidden to come and follow the Christ.
  • This inner man is the one who God communes with in the cool of the day.
  • This inner man is the one who was made in the image and likeness of God.
  • This inner man is the one who says, “You can do it.”
  • This inner man is the one who understands when the Word is preached.
  • This inner man is the one who is true to you.
  • This inner man is the one who does not lie so that you can get what you want.
  • This inner man is the one that God is talking to right now.
  • This inner man has the authority to say no to the flesh.
  • This inner man has the authority to say yes to God and mean it.
If you would allow your inner man to answer the call to God today, you will have more control over your life and over your flesh than ever before."

God Thinking XCVI - Getting Your Unbelief Under Control 5

"Unbelief is what keeps you at bay from really letting go and believing God for everything.

Unbelief is your grand excuse when all else fails and your faith caves, and your will succumbs.

Unbelief gives birth to doubt and life gets real difficult fighting two battles.  You fight against unbelief and you fight against the will of God at the same time.

You don’t want to give in to your doubt, but you don’t have the character to give in to God.

Unbelief as a familiar friend is there to lean on when God seems a million miles away.

You say you want to draw closer to God, but when you get closer, more and more of what was once precious to you gets burnt up and as you possess less and less, you fear running out.

God will come to you and comfort you, but God isn’t going to come to you and tickle your ears with nonsense.

God isn’t going to come to you and address you in this manner:
Excuse me, I’m not sure how to put this to you, but after you are finished with your show, if you could just give me a few minutes - I promise not to keep you - I just want to know if you are interested - if you want me to come back at another time.

You have to agree that to one degree or another you have made a mockery of God’s will for your life.

2 Chronicles 36:15-16
15.  And the Lord God of their fathers sent to them by His messengers, rising up betimes, and sending; because He had compassion on His people, and on His dwelling place:
 16.  But they mocked the messengers of God, and despised His words, and misused His prophets, until the wrath of the Lord arose against His people, till there was no remedy.

I am sure that God wants you to be blessed and to live out this life with the best of every bit of God’s creation.

God wants you to enjoy the fruit of your labor - to be happy and full of joy and to have peace during troubled times.

God designed a way for you to have all this and even more.
Psalms 33:4-5  4.  For the word of the Lord is right; and all his works are done in truth.

 5.  He loveth righteousness and judgment: the earth is full of the goodness of the Lord."

God Thinking XCVI - Getting Your Unbelief Under Control 4

"Luke 9:57-62
 57.  And it came to pass, that, as they went in the way, a certain man said unto him, Lord, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest.
 58.  And Jesus said unto him, Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.
 59.  And he said unto another, Follow me. But he said, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father.
 60.  Jesus said unto him, Let the dead bury their dead: but go thou and preach the kingdom of God.
 61.  And another also said, Lord, I will follow thee; but let me first go bid them farewell, which are at home at my house.
 62.  And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.

Lord, the truth is, I don’t really want to stop what I am doing.  My unbelief and my lack of faith have become a comfort to me.

If someone addresses the things in my life that aren’t right, I need my unbelief to comfort me and tell me it’s OK. I have learned not to worry about it.  I can take care of it later.

When the pressure is on and the Church really needs me, I  can say no, without hesitation.  My unbelief comforts me and lets me know, “after all, I am not trained.  Only trained people can work with kids.  I have no guilt, because I believe I can’t do it."

Unbelief is that voice that says that if the faith thing doesn’t work out you still have something to fall back on.

Unbelief keeps people secure while running away from God.
Unbelief becomes a faith in itself.
your unbelief has strong ties and a lot of supporters.

Unbelief rallies to keep you from believing words like:
 6.  And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you.  Luke 17:6
and
"for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you." Matthew 17:20
and
 22.  And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive. Matthew 21:21-22
and
 37.  For with God nothing shall be impossible. Luke1:37

"Is it not true that God has opened your eyes?  God has enlightened you to see the path and called you to follow, but you have said:
  • I will go wherever you send me, except New York, Miami, Los Angeles, Detroit, definitely not Africa.  Actually I would go to Australia if you paid the way and guaranteed me a round trip ticket, and I choose the dates.
  •  Just as soon as I am full, I will give to others.  Lord, I know you want me to give and I will if you let me win the lottery.  Think of all the good I could do with all that money.
(I say you can do more with $10.00 today under the anointing than with thousands of dollars promised on chance.
  • Lord, could you talk to my wife.  She just doesn’t understand my priorities.
  • Lord, you know that I don’t have time to pray.  By the time I get home and get a shower and eat and watch my favorite TV shows, I’m just too beat to pray.
  • Lord, I really want to do this myself.  Lord please don’t send so and so to help me.
  • Lord, You don’t mean right now, do you?
  • Lord, I can’t talk right.  You must have the wrong guy.
  • Could you say that again.  It sounded like you were saying that I must follow Jesus.
  • Lord can you wait just a bit while I tidy up my affairs.
  • And of course your own  personal ......

God Thinking XCVI - Getting Your Unbelief Under Control 2

"Have you have come to rely on your unbelief to see you through:
  • When what you pray for does not seem to come to pass.
  • When what you ask for is not granted before the sun goes down.
  • When you don’t have the answer.
  • When your flesh is tired.
  • When what you want (desire) greatly overrides what is best for you.
You have come to rely on your unbelief to see you through:
  • When you don’t want to wait for God to answer.
  • When your ego has consumed too much of you.
  • When your pride has become a defensive mechanism to to keep you fleshly and to ward off offensive supernatural inclinations from God’s indwelling Holy Spirit.
If you are relying on your unbelief to lead the way, your passion for the things of God will be diverted.

Is it not so?

Is it not true that you stand in the mirror and make decisions about who you are, acknowledging that it is but a simple thing that keeps you from a more pure way?

Is it not true that you stand in the kitchen weighing out the best against the less, and the less quite often gets the preference?

Is it not true that God has spoken to you about permanently disarming that thing that is a menace in your life?

Is it not true that even when you are moved to tears, you still find yourself indulging in what you hate?

Is it not true that you have tasted of the goodness of God - you have heard the call to a holy life - you sense the presence of God - you believe that God is here, but you still set the table for trouble?"

God Thinking XCVI - Getting Your Unbelief Under Control 1

"I want you to take time to think deeply about what God, the Father wants from you.

I want to look into the eyes of your Savior and ask the question, “Are you pleased with me, Lord?”

I want to commune with the Holy Spirit in a way that assures me that I have not only communicated my needs and desires, but, that I can say with assurance, that I have heard the voice of God, and that is why I am going forward with... (you fill in the blank).

Today, you have been brought to a crossroad.  What you do after you read this, will be the determining factor in the results - the outcome - of your entire future.

I am asking you to take a moment and pray to God to help you with your unbelief.  I will do it too.

It is not that you don’t have enough knowledge to follow Christ in your everyday walk.

It is not that you don’t have enough proof, that you mess around with a Holy God.

It is not that you are slacking in revelation, inspiration, illumination or impartation that you are found in want, too often.

It is not that you have not been shown the way.

It is not that you have not sensed His glory round about you.

It is not that you have not learned, many times, timeless truths from the ancient of ancients.

It is not that you have not sensed His presence.

It is not that you have not, on  occasion, given consideration to the things of God.

It is not that the devil has so much power that you just cannot break through to that place of certainty and surety.

It is not because, as a child, you suffered at the hands of the guilty, and you just cannot get beyond it.

It is also not that you have come to recognize your insufficiency, and it is so great that you cannot get beyond yourself."

God Thinking I - In The Beginning 12

"A few ways you can do this (change the way you think) is by:
Looking and seeking to create what pleases God.
Recognizing that God is not to be blamed for man’s sin.
Taking responsibility for your own future.
Building it with God thoughts.

Thoughts of success
Thoughts of giving to others
Thoughts of getting understanding and wisdom from God
Thoughts that plan ahead and carefully use the moments at hand.
Thoughts that foresee great things
Thoughts that reach beyond our present circumstances
Thoughts that require God’s help
Thoughts that fit being a child of God
Thoughts that conform to what God has in Mind for you

The scriptures confirm that your thinking is to be in agreement with God, to wit, God thinkingListen to the words of Paul in Philippians 2:5

Philippians 2:5
“Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

Philippians 4:7-8
“And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.  V8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”  Does it matter how you think?

Romans 8:6-7 & 14
“For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.”
V7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can it be.
V14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.”

Romans 8:27-30
V27 And He that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because He maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.”
V28And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose.
V29 For whom He did foreknow, He did also predestinate to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. V30 Moreover whom He did predestinate, them He also called: and whom He called, them He also justified: and whom He justified, them He also glorified.”

God is working towards your good.  God thinking puts you in line and in the know with what God already foreknew you would accomplish.

Romans 12:1-2
“I beseech you therfore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. V2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable and perfect, will of God.”

God thinking is renewing your mind to think like God.  It is not something to be afraid of or to be set aside as if you were unworthy.  It is to be embraced with all of your being. You are worthy.

1 Corinthians 2:9-16
Ephesians 4:17-24
Hebrews 8:7-10

Hebrews 8:10b
“I will put my laws into their mind, and write them on their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:”

Do these scriptures sound like God thinks you should practice God thinking?

What God is doing right now is the biggest move of God since creation.  And, you have been called, by His foreknowledge to learn and practice God thinking.

You will have more opportunity this year to accomplish your goals and dreams than ever before.  Learn to work, hand in hand with God - to fulfill His prophesy for you, in you, by you.  Amen"

God Thinking I - In The Beginning 11

"God thinking will keep you full of:
passion - desire - ambition - energy - power - authority and most of all - time.

Ask yourself - Are there things you can do, places you can go, books you can read, messages you can hear that will help you to think more like God?

I believe that over the next several weeks you will investigate many ways
to embrace the kind of thinking that God endorses - God thinking.

It is enough for now, that you begin to rebuild the way you think and divert the seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months and years - that you once spent: nurturing, feeding & perpetuating wrong thinking - into God thinking.

Abundant life is ahead for anyone who will receive it.  How do I know that?  Because God has already created it.  God has already made a way for you and what God creates is always good.

You are to be in the world, not of the world.  The (in part) means that there will still be plenty of people creating and sustaining an ugly and depressing world.  There will still be the effects of the fall of man.  Others will still think earthly thoughts and bring about havoc, turmoil, pain and suffering.  The devil will still be here to challenge your every thought.

But you can transcend it all, if you are willing to change the way you think."

God Thinking I - In The Beginning 10

"To begin to implement God thinking you need to evaluate three questions.

1. Is there anything you can do to change what you have already done?
2. Is there anything that you can do to change your current situation?
3. Is there anything that you can do that could change your future?

Too many people spend too much of their time - (in their mind) in the part of their lives that cannot be changed - the past.  Any time that you give the past, in the way of remorse - guilt - hatred - revenge - anger towards God - dragging up old bones - thinking about old flames - fallen preachers - unanswered prayer - unkept promises - unforgiven debt - anything that is taking time away from your now and your future, is not only taking valuable time, it is causing you and to perpetuate the same kind of thinking that has held you back or kept you from reaching that next goal in life, in the first place.  God thinking requires you to live in God’s time.  God is with the program.  He is very contemporary.  He is fully up to date, today and forever.  God is about today and tomorrow.

Nothing with God happens yesterday.  God thinking requires less focus on where you’ve been - what you’ve done - what you have or haven’t accomplished - what you’ve lost - or what could have been:

And more focus on where you are today, where you are going, what you are going to do, what you can accomplish and who you can be.

Everyone complains about not having enough time to do this or that, but this too is not God thinking.  There is time.  If you believe that there is not enough time, you have allowed a kind of mental virus to get into your thinking and slowly eat away at your vitality and your hope.

It is not true that you don’t have time.  It was never true.  God thinking will demand a higher call to the way that you dispose the day."

God Thinking I - In The Beginning 9

"The mind of God creates and sustains everything in its place - The past, the present and the future - the same.

Your mind has allowed the experience of others, past failures and disappointments, and your own choices to program how you think.

The successes, prosperity, the best moments of your life, your accomplishments and victories - the God things:
They give you what hope - energy - drive & ambition that you have - They are the building blocks to a good life.

The failures, mistakes, false teaching, poverty, emptiness and loneliness, unanswered prayer and unperformed miracles - the worst of moments - They are the building blocks of a miserable life - but they don’t have to be.

In the mind of God - all past things - good or bad - happy or sad - accomplishment orf failure - can build something good.

Genesis 50:19 - 20
“And Joseph said unto them, (his brothers who had sold him into slavery),, fear not: for am I in the place of God? V20 But as for you, ye thought evil against me, but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.”

That’s how God thinks.  God thinking takes the same approach.  Whatever has passed, is passed to benefit you to bring you closer to:
your conquest
your goal
your dream
your life’s goal"

God Thinking I - In The Beginning 8

"I’m going to expose the reason why things aren’t better in your life.
why things are so hard
why there is so much apathy today
why it is so hard to get from point A to point B
why you have such a hard time getting what you are after

Are you ready.
It’s all about the way you think.

We are going to start God thinking by carefully redefining the way we believe.  In order to be successful and to serve God the way He wants you to, you cannot continue wrong thinking:
  • wrong thinking about God
  • wrong thinking about yourself
  • wrong thinking caused by misinterpretation of God’s truth
  • misappropriation of your time and energy
  • and just plain stubbornness and disobedience
Take a look with me at Proverbs 23:7a., Proverbs 23:7a, “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he:...”

This verse has often been used to describe a mind-set, like: If you think you can succeed you can, if you think you are great you can be great, if you think you are no good, you are no good.  In other words, what you think yourself to be, you are.  This is the philosophy of the positive thinking gurus, but not the Word of God.

This verse speaks clearly about the way a man thinks and really has nothing to do with what he thinks himself to be.

This verse would better be understood this way.
The total sum of man’s thoughts:
both good and evil
right and wrong
thoughtful and discouraging
ugly and beautiful
sinful and righteous - is who he is.

Just the same, who you can be - is determined by how you think now, combined with a new way of thinking, called God thinking.

It’s all about the way you think."
