God Thinking XCI - Meology 6

"If you are thinking that it’s God that is keeping people from coming to church... Think again, it’s not God keeping people out of church.

If people would get their minds off of themselves (Me-ology) and give God His rightful place in their life (theology), you would have to run services all day and night too.

The majority of people today have turned their back to God.  Me-ology is sweeping this nation and our city and our households.

2 Timothy 3:1-4
 1.  This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
 2.  For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
 3.  Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
 4.  Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

The Bible says, “And some fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up, and choked it, and it yielded no fruit. Mark 4:7
Mark 4:18-19
18.  And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word,
 19.  And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.

God spared us the awful truth of what some of the “lusts of other things” are, but they are all wares of the world - sold cheap to undermine those who have a chance to make things right with God.  These wares are given freely to those who have poor self-disciplines.

The Bible says, “...know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.” James 4:4

The Bible says, :”Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
 16.  For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.”  1 John 2:15-16

When you worship God, and I am using worship here as (your daily commitment to the ways of God and daily commitment to the things of God) - If you worship God practicing Me-ology, (it’s all about me) - your worship is shallow and not only shallow, but fruitless.

Your carnal self practices Me-ology and your spirit self practices theology.

At some point in time, you w ill have to reconcile what you are believing against the Word of God. Are you practicing Meology or theology?
