God thinking 64 - True Freedom In Christ 11

"You’ve been told so long that you can’t live a holy life, that when someone comes along and says you can, you have doubt.

Freedom in Christ is to be celebrated.

You should be happy that Christ calls you to heart purity.

When you are in agreement with God as to how God wants you to live, He then gives you the tools and the power to get on with it.

Listen as God finishes this message by speaking the truth into your spirit.

Matthew 5:13-16
13.  Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
14.  Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
15.  Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
16.  Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Luke 9:62
62.  And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.
Hebrews 12:14
14.  Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:

Romans 12:1-2
1.  I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
2.  And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

In Ephesians, Paul outlines for you the delicate balance of being saved by grace:

by the power of God

(without your having earned it)

called out from among the world

created in Christ Jesus

to do God’s work among men.

Ephesians 1:3-4
3.  Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
4.  According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
Ephesians 2:1-10
1.  And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;
2.  Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
3.  Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
4.  But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
5.  Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
6.  And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
7.  That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
8.  For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9.  Not of works, lest any man should boast.
10.  For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Ephesians 4:17-24
“In the Lord’s name, I tell you this.  I warn you: Do not continue living like those who do not believe.  Their thoughts are worth nothing.
V18 They do not understand.  They know nothing, because they refuse to listen.  So they cannot have the life that God gives.
V19 They have lost their feeling of shame.  And they use their lives for doing evil.  More and more they want to do all kinds of evil.
V20 But the things you learned in Christ are not like this.
V21 I know that you heard about Him, and you are in Him; so you were taught the truth.  Yes, the truth is in Jesus.
V22 You were taught to leave your old self - to stop living the evil way you lived before.  That old self becomes worse and worse because God’s people are fooled by the evil things they want to do.
V23 But you were taught to be made new in your hearts.
V24 You were taught to become a new person.  That new person is made to be like God - made to be truly good and holy.
