God Thinking 2 - To See God part 4

"God reveals Himself to you through His Word so that when God abides in you, (makes His residence in you), you would know how to prepare His residence for Him.  I hope you are getting this.  The only way you and I will ever be what we were made to be is when we willingly prepare the temple of the Holy Spirit for God to reside/abide.  The only way that you and I will ever have a correct view of God, so that we can prepare our temple for Him, is when we are willing to abandon our religious view of God.   We need to have a Majestic view of God.

Some of us have put more stock in what man has said about God than what God has said about God.  Are you going to hang on to erroneous beliefs about God or are you going to believe what God has said about Himself?  God wants you to trust Him so that you can keep the temple of the Holy Spirit prepared/up to date with what God is doing.  God trusts you so much that He allows you to self evaluate your faith to determine if you are growing in Christ and representing God with your whole being.

Paul says in 2 Corinthians 13:5, "Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves; prove your on selves.  Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?"

God Thinking 2 - To See God part 3

"Whatever you are thinking, that God accepts, (as pertains to your lifestyle, what you allow to come into you, what you participate in, what kind of TV you allow in your home, what you think about, where you go, what you do, what you believe), whatever it is, God accepts and sanctifies what He has already spoken that He will do, nothing more, nothing less.
God does not condescend to meet man to assist him in not doing the will of the Father.

To the contrary, God abides in you so you can ascend to meet God to do the will of the Father.   That's why the unsaved world cannot do the will of God, because God does not abide in them, to do His will.  Every Word spoken by God, which clearly defines the will of God, has within it the attribute of eternity.  All else is vanity.  All else is for a season.  All else will run its course and die.  That's why God has declared Himself in His Word.  That's why God declares Himself in you and through you, by you.  God reveals Himself to you by His Word.  And when you believe what God says about Himself, God can perform what He has spoken to you, through you and by you.

God thinking 2 To See God part 2

"God gave us His Word to prepare us to meet Him. And through the Word of God we come to know God.  But once we come to know God He abides is us.  John 14:23 says, "Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love Me, He will keep My Words: and My Father will love him, and We will come unto him, and make our abode with Him."

Abode is literally, 'place of residence, a staying.'  Now, to those who have been born again, God's Word reveals to us, God, who abides in us.  God reveals to us how God is going to live in us and through us.

I don't think you have got this yet.  God speaks to you in His Word, about what He is going to do through you, by His Word.  Catch this: What God has spoken in His Word, about what God has purposed for your life, He will do, in you and through you, by His Word.  In other words, God has already spoken to you, what God is going to do in you and through you, by you.

What God has purposed you for, God is preparing you for.  What God has prepared you for, God will participate in.  By abiding in you, God ensures success in what God has prepared you for.

Note: I've noticed that too many Christians, not the world, too many Christians are fighting
God all the time.  They know what to do, they just won't do it."

God thinking - To see God

·       Nothing strains our soul, distresses our body and confuses our mind more than a low    and unworthy image of God.
·       Nothing builds us up, nourishes our soul, heals our bodies, and purifies our mind more than a high and lofty view of God, in Christ, by the Holy Spirit.
·       Nothing can bring satisfaction, pleasure and personal fulfillment like seeking and finding God's holy presence.
·       Nothing compares to the knowledge of God, nothing

Failure to understand God, perpetuates confusion and apathy, even in the Christian.  God did not make it difficult to understand His ways, but between satan lying to us and fighting against us, the world competing with God at every turn and religion advancing the cause of ‘lukewarmism’, God's profound and simple truths have been slighted.  God gave us His Word and that is a beautiful and wonderful gift, to be compared with nothing; but God gave us something even better than His Word; He gave us Himself"

God Thinking LI - 11

"I am inviting you to a richer and deeper walk with God, by letting the truths of God permeate your soul and become true in you.

More time alone with your heavenly Father is exactly what you need so that you can experience the rest and the peace that God freely provides.

God thinks highly of His rest and His peace, so He made it simple for you to have it.

“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee; because he trusteth in Thee.”  Isaiah 26:3

Hear what else God has to say about it.

“These things I have spoken unto you, that in Me ye might have peace.  In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” John 16:33

“Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7.  And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”  Phillipians 4:6-7

“Now the Lord of peace Himself give you peace always by all means.  The Lord be with you all.”  2 Thessalonians 3:16

“Peace I leave with you, My peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you.  Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”  John14:27

“28.  Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.  29.  Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. Matthew 11:28-30

Are these truths true in you?

God Thinking LI - 10

" See, the truth is that: “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee;”

The Word doesn’t say: “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is torn between two worlds.

The Word doesn’t say: “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is wandering about unsure of whether to trust God or not.

The Word doesn’t say: “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is aloof and easily distracted.

The Word doesn’t say: “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is not considering God’s role in their life.

The Word doesn’t say: “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is totally caught up in worldly pursuits.

The Word doesn’t say: “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is controlled by the surrounding circumstances.

No, the word says: “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee;”

I am not sharing this truth to make you feel guilty or discouraged, (for not spending enough quality or quantity time with God.) I am sharing this truth to help you stay focused and encourage you to develop a plan to have more quality and quantity time, (for your mind) to be stayed on God.

If we have been fishing and haven’t caught any fish, it shouldn’t be discouraging when someone comes over to you and says; “I’m catching fish, bring your pole over here.”

God Thinking LI - 9

Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee;”  Isa. 26:3 The key to having this peace that God is talking about in this verse, is the phrase, “is stayed on Thee:”

“Is stayed” is present tense, and it is in the present tense that God discloses Himself.  Stayed is from the Hebrew word, (camak, (saw-mak), which means; established in, to lean upon, rest self in, set self in, stand fast in.

The truth found in this scripture is true to you, (in you and through you) every moment you abide or operate in its precepts.

I want to stay right here on this subject until you get the revelation of just how important this principle is.

Have you ever tried to pray, but the distractions and noises, and duties, the phone ringing, the animals and many other things keep us from finishing what we started to do?

Your intentions may have been good, but your ability to follow through was just too obstacle laden to complete.

Let me ask you: Just think about this for a moment.

You were going to pray, but you didn’t.  Were the prayers you were going to pray, but didn’t, answered?

If you meant to call someone and forgive them for something that have done, but you never call, are they forgiven by you?

If you have considered buying a pair of Redwing shoes and you really want them, but you never go and buy them - Are they your shoes simply because you intended to buy them?

You found a beautiful home you want to buy.  You look at it.  You make arrangement with the bank for a loan.  You meet the seller and come to an agreed price. You have the down payment, but, for whatever reason - even though everything is in order - every detail taken care of - you don’t give the seller a down-payment; Is the house yours, because you intended to buy it?  No

When is the house yours?  After you buy it.

You’ve been meaning to play games with your kids or visit your family and you tell them so, regularly.  You even want to, but you never do.  As the years go by, what fruit did the (intention to do), (that you never did), bear?

The truth in all this is: If you want the peace of God, your mind will have to be stayed on Him.

The truth is: If you want your prayers answered, you are going to have to pray.

The truth is: If you don’t make the call and forgive that someone in your life - they will not receive the blessing of forgiveness, just because you almost called them.

The truth is: If you don’t buy the Redwing shoes, you are not going to wear them.

The truth is: If you don’t put that down payment on the house and follow through, someone else is going to, move into your intention.

If you are thinking, “God knows my heart”, you are right, and if that is your excuse for not staying or following through, God is disappointed.

The fact that God knows the thoughts and intents of the heart only means that God knows if what you do outwardly was motivated by your relationship with God to serve God and bring glory to God or to serve self and bring glory to self.

Good intentions without following through and fulfilling the will of God , bears no fruit."

God Thinking LI - 7

"God spoke His truth and is speaking His truth to you.  God has already spoken all that is necessary for you to have and enjoy all of God’s creation and to have and enjoy a personal relationship with God, through Christ.

God did this through the written Word.  God has already spoken through His prophets and to His people.

Every truth from God stays constantly true.  Whether you or anyone else believes what God has said, what God has said is always true.  But whether you believe what God says or not determines whether what God says is true - for you or not.
The truth of God is true, but you cannot operate in that truth, until it is true to you.

Hear the Word of the LORD:

“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee; because he trusteth in Thee.”  Isaiah 26:3

This truth from God is always true, but there is a great chasm between what God speaks that is true and what God speaks that is true in your life and my life."

God thinking LI - 6

"God wants you to think in a way that brings joy toy our life and glory to God.  God knows what it is that makes that happen and He supplies you with what you need to bring it about.

God Thinking is all about how you think and what you think about.  It matters, because much, if not all, of your spiritual battles are fought in the mind.

You are going to learn something significant about the nature of truth in this message.

The outcome of your life - or the fruit of your life is in direct relation to the truths from God that are yours - in your mind."

God Thinking LI - 5

"The bible talks to us a lot about the mind and its role in how God communicates with us.

Have you ever tried to think about something important, an idea or just a passing thought, but you couldn’t get it to come together and materialize, so it just dissipated into fragments?

Or, you are trying to concentrate and pray or just be alone with God, and thoughts are just racing through your head or the distractions start getting louder and louder and your ability to concentrate, again dissipates and your precious time is lessened or becomes fruitless altogether?

I believe that many of us are kept from our mission - purpose - calling - because we cannot or do not take time to fully develop our thoughts, especially when it comes to praying to or talking to God and having the time or the silence, the undivided attention it takes to hear the voice of God.

The results of not thinking the way that God wants us to is devastating, as to our overall existence.  And the one who suffers the most is our inner man.

There is no peace and no rest when your inner man is confused of operating with wrong thinking."

God ThinkingLI - 4

"God knows that only through communion with God in prayer (Operating in a way that you allow your mind to be apprehended by God so that He can fill you with His will).

Can you accomplish the tasks at hand with integrity, knowing that you have agreement with God that you should proceed forward (or go to) (or plan to do this or that) or whatever the task at hand is for the day.

I’ll tell you a truth you already know.  You make far too many decisions without consulting the Father in heaven.

God knows that only through communion with God in prayer can you glorify God, because God provides, (in the mind) what you cannot obtain on your own."

God Thinking LI - 3

"The Word of God gives us insight into the mind of God.  Listen carefully to what God has to say about it.

“5.  Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.  6.  Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.  7.  And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”   Phillipians 4:5-7

Be careful for nothing simply means: There is nothing that you should carry the burden of, alone.  There is nothing that you can bring to God that will surprise Him.

God knows that only through communion with God in prayer, i. e., (your mind and the mind of Christ uniting in will and purpose):

Can you find solace and fulfillment in the pursuit of whatever it is? - Sure you can find pleasure, but for lasting and meaningful satisfaction, you had better bring God in on it."

God Thinking LI - 2

"When God speaks to you, what God has said is not yet yours yet. You cannot operate in or under its authority until it is yours, and it becomes yours by believing it and receiving it, by faith.

Paul caught this vision from God when He was writing to the Romans.  Paul wrote:

“5.  For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.  6.  For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.  7.  Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.”  Romans 8:5-7

We need a generation of men and women that will believe what God says.

There is carnally minded and there is spiritually minded, and there is a war going on in the mind between these two poles.  Spiritually minded is seeking life and everything associated with being a child of the living God.

Carnally minded, is seeking life and everything associated with satisfying your base desires, without including God in the equation."

God is interested in your mind and what you think, and that is evident in the way that God created you.  Think about it, the written Word was developed for use by your mind and it is your mind that activates the truths within the Word of God, by faith."

God Thinking LI - 8

"Listen carefully to this example:

Is it true that Jesus is the Savior?   Yes

Is there anything that could possibly change that from being true?  No

Is Jesus the Savior in the mind of those who deny Him?  No

If Jesus is the Savior, why is He not the Savior in those who do not believe in Him?  Because even though it is true that Jesus is the Savior, He is not the Savior in their mind and in their heart.  Heart and mind being synonymous in this respect.

Let’s look at Isaiah 26:3 again:

“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee; because he trusteth in Thee.”  Isaiah 26:3

It will always be true that God will “keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on (God). But our minds are not always stayed on Him, so we are not always in perfect peace.

Or, to put it a little differently, (for perspective), you don’t have perfect peace when your mind is not stayed on Him."

Excerpt from God Thinking LI by Keith C. Powell Copyright 2012

God Thinking LI

"The mind is a terrible thing to waste.  And we need not waste ours.

God desires that you have a sound mind.

God doesn’t tell you to do something or to be something and then leave you alone to try and ascend to it.  What God does, is tell you how to do something or how to be something and then shows you through example and confirms it by His own Word.

God doesn’t expect that you will have a naturally tendency to use your mind for the glory of God.  God knows that your natural tendency is of a lessor sort.

So when God speaks to you through His Word, not only does He speak to you, but God speaks into you, if you receive it.

As you seek after God’s will, (your mind being influenced by the mind of God), when God speaks into you, what God speaks into you, becomes part of who you are.  God speaks into your mind the things of God and then you can seek after and thrive on the things of God more than ever.

Your natural or carnal mind tranforms into a spiritual mind every time you hear and abide in the Word of God.  When God speaks into you, His Word is performed in you and through you, when it becomes true for you."

God Thinking Pre-empt 17

"Change your vision of God - close your eyes and see God in the inner man.

Think higher and loftier thoughts.

You can always tell when you are making headway with God.
  • As you get closer, God gets bigger.
  • As you know more, there's more still.
  • As you go deeper, deeper gets deeper.
  • As you draw closer, God pulls you closer.
Make up your mind to put God Thinking into action.  Force the things of God to the top of your thinking and push down all else.  Some things need to be pushed so far down that they are pushed out altogether."

God thinking Pre-empt 16

"People pleasers make lousy worshipers.
Jesus say in John 4:23-24, "But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. 24.  God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth."

Life was never meant to be a game where you juggle your professional life, your family life, your Church life, your work life - as if they were independent of one another.

The only life that glorifies God is the integrated life.

The unbelieving world - secular humanist - agnostics - atheist and  - this is a hard saying - and the lukewarm Christian - All want you to play their game and their game is - GOD IS NOT FIRST.
There's more that the worldly purport.  Here this.
  • The things of God are not to be integrated into your life.
  • You can juggle a little Church with a little world.
  • A little marriage with a little womanizing.
  • A little Christianity with a little Eastern philosophy.
  • A little G rated TV with a little ....
  • A little integrity with a few bounced checks.
Freedom and enlightenment is when you are free from the wicked influences of this world - not when you are free to indulge yourself in them.

Take just a few moments and think the deepest thoughts of God you can muster up.
Allow yourself to be mesmerized by God.
Allow your thoughts to go deeper than ever before.
Talk to your inner man and listen as your highest self expresses God's perfect will in your life.
Visualize standing or sitting or bowing in God's presense, before the throne of God.
Force your mind to stop racing around and listen to God, carefully and often - without your cell phone on.

Go to God in your spirit and sense His acceptance of you.

This is cleansing and powerful and real.

"You either believe it and receive it or you cannot have it (peace with God).

How many times do you need to read a scripture before you believe it?

I believe that the average person in America believes that the detour is the main highway.  The reason I can say that and without any doubt is because most Americans major on the minors and minor on the majors.  Born again believers have been inundated for so long (by a quickly deteriorating and demoralizing sin-sick society) that we have had to lower our standards in order to fit in, and we have.

I challenge somebody to demand from themselves not to continue in this way - just get up and walk around the room three times and ask God to change the way you think.

I challenge somebody to agree with me that you will once again set your sights on Jesus and learn to live Big - And to see the greater beauty and purity and love that God designed you to operate in.

If you could forget about what so and so is going to think of you just long enough to see the call of God and to put on the mind of Christ - you would have breakthrough after breakthrough."

God Thinking Pre-empt 14

"Most people have never experienced peace with God.
And it's not because it isn't available
Nor is it necessarily because you do not want it
Nor is it because in the general scheme of things you don't deserve it
You don't experience the peace of God because you are still trying to work your way into God's good grace.

You are still trying to pay for or make up for your lack of devotion to God.
  • You are still trying to cover up for lost time and commitment to your heavenly Father
  • You are still trying to pay for your indiscretion and sin.
  • You are still trying to make it right
And yet there is nothing you could ever do that will change God's mind toward you.
There's nothing you can do to make yourself worthy
  • There's no amount of penance
  •  No amount of retribution
  • No acts of mercy
  • No gift big enough
There's nothing you can offer God of equal value to His Son.

Christians are frustrated because they don't feel worthy.  This is a lie of the enemy.  You should expect the Jew and the Hindu, the Muslim and the Taoist to work hard to find peace with God, but the Christian?
There is no peace to be found apart from what God gives freely through Christ.
