Thought for the Day

"Here is the sum of it all. Take a close look at your life. Ask yourself, "With what I know, with the knowledge I have, in my present state of awareness:

  • Have I prepared my body to be the temple of the LORD?
  • Have I prepared my mind to house the truths of God?
  • Have I prepared my spirit to receive to receive what God has prepared me for?
The answer to these questions will help you to gravitate toward a healthier diet and better living conditions for your body.
The answer to these questions will help you to learn the Word of God and let it create in you the mind of Christ.
The answer to these questions will help you to seek His face and go deeper than ever before; to quit playing games with your future. God doesn't want you gambling with your future. He wants you to see His vision for your life. Then He wants you to live out that vision, in Christ."

Thought for the Day

  • "If we choose to reject Him, God sees the consequences and it becomes true.
  • If we choose to accept Him, God sees the blessings and they become fulfilled.
  • If we choose to receive all that God has for us and we choose to submit our whole self to Him, God sees what He intended for us......
  • If you or I continue to live outside of God's will for our life, it won't be because God didn't clearly expose the consequences.
  • It won't be because God didn't clearly identify Himself to each and every human being.
  • It won't be because God missed our name and forgot to call us. It is the will of God that all mankind be saved.
  • It won't be because someone grew up in a remote area of Brazil and God couldn't reach them.
Stop believing the lies of the unbeliever and their religious cohorts about how and when and who and why and where. They don't have a clue. The next time the question comes up, "If God were a loving God, how could He let so many people die without knowing Him?"  You tell them, "How could so many people die without having recognized the love of God?"

Thought for the Day

"In God=s foreknowledge rest=s our future.  God has revealed His plan for mankind.  If we will not turn around and head towards God, we seal our own fate - not because God predestined our rejection (like some think), not because God caused us to disobey Him, not because God has favorites, (like some think).  No, it will be because, in God=s foreknowledge, He sees what we choose and figures that into - who we are."

Thought for the Day

"Once we realize that when God delivers us, He delivers the whole person, (body, mind and spirit) we can better understand where we should be, in Christ. The tomorrow God sees for us includes good health. The tomorrow God sees for us includes a sound mind. The tomorrow God sees for us includes a willing spirit.

Now, I am going to speak to three kinds of people. Hear the Word of the Lord:

1 "If you live your life separate from Me, when you cross over into the unknown, you will continue to live separate from Me."

2 "If you include Me in your life, activities, lifestyle, long term and short term goals, decisions and everyday operations, you will continue to be guided and protected."

3 "If you decide to trust Me, believe Me, put faith in Me, praise Me, Worship me, listen to Me and obey Me, you will be directed by Me to fulfill what I prophesy for you."

Thought for the Day

"There are preachers and teachers and parishioners and students that don't believe that the story of Lazarus and the rich man was true. They don't believe that the other Lazarus was really dead. They don't believe that the man next to Jesus went to paradise.
They don't believe in:
  • Salvation by grace alone
  • Sanctification through the Word of God
  • The great commission
  • They don't believe that there's power in the blood
  • They don't believe that satan is a spiritual being
  • They don't believe that prayer is for today
  • They don't believe in the indwelling Holy Spirit
  • They don't believe in an end of the age
  • They don't believe that Jesus is the only name by which we must be saved
  • They don't believe that Jesus took a coin from the fishes mouth
  • They don't believe the wicked will be punished
I could go on for hours. Unfortunately, there are far too many people, many who claim to be Christians, that don't believe what God says about Himself. They can't see God, taste God, touch God, smell God or feel God, so they don't believe God.
  • They have prayed and nothing happened
  • They have called and heard no answer
  • They have begged and God did not respond
They have decided that if God were real, He would prove Himself to them in a tangible way, not once, but over and over again.  Since God has not performed a miracle suitable for them, they will not believe. So be it."

Thought for the Day

"There are many who don't read the Old Testament, because "it's old and archaic and full of unimportant, non-scientific, not historically sound, half truths mixed with allegories and stories."

There are some who believe in the historical Jesus, but not the miraculous Jesus. They believe He lived, but they believe He died, and stayed dead. They believe He was just another prophet taking up our valuable time trying to be something He wasn't.

There are a huge constituency that believe in a god. They're OK with that, but not a real God, that thinks and moves and creates and communicates and delivers and heals and rebuilds. Not a God that provides and protects and chastises, and loves and blesses and answers.

Some people don't believe simply because they have not seen God. They believe they have a brain though and yet they haven't seen their brain, but that's OK, everybody knows we have a brain. Right? "A double minded man is unstable in all his ways." James 1:8

Thought for the Day

"There are some still trying to figure out the virgin birth as if it could be figured out, and if they don't figure it out, then it must not have happened. There are still many who can't get past the Trinity. "The word Trinity is not in the Bible, therefore it must not be true," but they don't believe the Bible, so why does that make any difference?

here are many that don't believe in hell, so since they don't believe in it, it must not exist. After all why would a loving God create a place of torment? The problem is that if we believe in a loving God, we have to believe in a hell too, because it is the same book that speaks of a loving God that teaches of the place called hell.

There are still many, many, even Sunday School teachers, that do not believe the Red Sea was parted. They have provided a scientific explanation that better fits their faith. "The Red Sea was shallow that day, and the wind dried up the bottom of the Sea and the Hebrews walked across dry land, and just about the time they were crossing the Egyptians were coming after them and a huge storm blew up and filled up the Red Sea and the Egyptians all drowned in 3" of water." This is what happens when people make up their our own version of the scriptures. They make up distorted, ridiculous, unbelievable and just plain false concepts.

God doesn't need your help or mine to reveal Himself by His Word, but He does need for us to believe what He says."

Thought for the Day

"That same divine intervention that saved you transforms you from truth to truth, faith to faith, glory to glory, day by day. Now I could go on right into the full revelation of this union of God and man. And how you were designed so perfectly as to be the host of the Holy Spirit so that your will can be God's will. How when you were approved of God that you were anointed for the job. How you have already been transformed from darkness to light and that with Christ all things are possible. I could, but I'm not going to. Because there are some, who are not convinced that God is actively pursuing the heart of man.

There are some who are not convinced that God is involved in the affairs of mankind today. There are some who think the sand holds itself up on the edge of the beaches around the world, even though the Word of God says in Jeremiah 5:22, "Fear ye not Me? Saith the LORD: Will ye not tremble at My presence, which have placed the sand for the bound of the sea by a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass it: and though the waves therefore toss themselves, yet can they not prevail; though they roar, yet can they not pass over it?"

There are some who think the air they  breath is provided by some unknown, unseen force that just happened to put air inside our atmosphere, and that the air doesn=t escape because it=s not supposed to, even though the earth is the only planet in the universe that supports human life.

There are some who don=t believe that babies are created by God and that they are not babies until they breathe their first breath of air.  But the Word of God says in Isaiah 44:2, AThus saith the LORD that made thee, and formed thee from the womb...@  And in Jeremiah 1:5, the Word says, ABefore I formed thee in the belly, I knew thee;...@

Thought for the Day

"God-thinking teaches you to recognize what you are able to do, based upon your:

  • Talent - Ability - Personality - Skills
  • Temperament - Aspirations - Peculiarities - Strengths
In other words what you are capable of accomplishing - using your present total makeup of who you are - in or within your present or your current circumstances - without the aid of divine intervention. And to recognize what you are unable to accomplish without the hand of God - without divine intervention. Once you ascertain or discern the possible from the impossible, you will have a clear view of why you need God and why you need God so desperately, and why you need God so often. After all, without God's divine intervention, you and I would not be in Christ. He created you, called you, accepted you and without Him you would have no experience with Christ."

Thought for the Day

"As the Word of God says in 2 Corinthians 4:16b A...though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.@  And in Ephesians 4:23-24  AAnd be renewed in the spirit of your mind.  V24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.@  As I said before:  God reveals truth upon truth to take us from faith to faith to get us from glory to glory and God does this day by day."

Excerpt from The Power of God Thinking by Keith C. Powell Copyright 2010

Thought for the Day

"God teaches us what He wants us to know so the whole body of Christ will be fitly joined together - and it all works just fine when His people adhere to the truth they already know, and build upon their faith, truth upon truth.  But some truths are hard and the lazy believer will trade in a hard truth for something more suitable to their liking, thereby stopping their own spiritual growth and interfering with the progress of the whole body of Christ.

It=s easier for them that way.  They hear what they want to hear and they do what they want to do.  They decide what they will do, where they will go, who they will forgive, how much they will give, what they will be in agreement with in the Lord and what they will not give over to God.

When they hear the voice of God, they procrastinate. They make excuses. They hide from the revelation. They act like nothing happened. They stay where they were, and where they are is where they want to stay. But for those who don't hold on to their past too tightly:

  • For those who aren't satisfied with last decades experience
  • For those who aren't Ok with eternal stagnation
  • For those who aren't ready to quit
  • For those who aren't standing still
God reveals truth upon truth and takes us from faith to faith to get from glory to glory and God does this day by day."

Thought for the Day

"A little truth, a little devotion to God, a little sacrifice of prayer, a little worship, a little trust, a little faith; We haven=t been faithful to all we know.  See, God teaches us what He wants us to know.  And until we stop fighting it, we fight against God Himself.  We grieve the Holy Spirit and call it......................freedom in Christ."

Excerpt from The Power of God Thinking by Keith C. Powell Copyright 2010

Thought for the Day

"From truth to truth. Exodus 34:5-6 "And the LORD descended in the cloud, and stood with him there, (i.e., Moses), and proclaimed the name of the Lord. V6 And the LORD passed by before him, and proclaimed, The LORD, The LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering and abundant in goodness and truth."

God discloses Himself to you one truth at a time. God does this to keep you from melting in His presence. God never intended that you would receive a truth from God and then squander it, (go backwards). No way. Truth is revealed to be utilized. And each truth carries with it the foundation for the next truth and must be realized/adhered to, in order for you to get another truth. Truth upon truth or precept upon precept is the way of God. Not truth in lieu of truth or precept in lieu of precept as some teach.

  • Many say, "I like the truth about being the righteousness of Christ, but I don't care much for the truth about living a righteous life."
  • Many say, "I like the truth about God supplying all my needs, but the truth about meeting the needs of others..."
  • Some say, "I like the truth about being baptized in the Holy Ghost, but I don't care much nor will I practice being baptized into His (Jesus's) death."
Look what we've allowed to happen as a people. Look what we've allowed to happen in our country. I struggled with this, but God put it on my heart to lay it out straight - If you don't believe it all, (the Bible) you shouldn't believe any of it."

Thought for the Day

"From faith to faith.  Luke 17:5  AAnd the Apostles said unto the Lord, increase our faith.@  Increasing your faith takes you from one faith, (the faith you had), to another faith, (the faith you have), to another faith, (the faith you can have).  God never intended that your faith would grow and then you would set aside what faith you have and go backwards.  No way.  Your faith is increased so that you can believe more than you used to believe, thus, again you are transformed into the very image of God from faith to faith, by the Spirit of God.  Are you getting this?"

Thought for the Day

"At the core of your being you were designed to grow: Physically - Intellectually - Emotionally - Spiritually.  All of this so you can get from one place to another.  From glory to glory, from faith to faith, from truth to truth, renewed day to day, moving forward through time to experience life with God.

From glory to glory.  2 Corinthians 3:18  ABut we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.@  We are changed into the image of God, from where we were, (that glory), to where we are, (this glory), to where we are going, (future glory).

God never intended for you to go to one glory and stay there, nor did God intend for you to go from glory to glory (backwards), from where you are to where you=ve been.  No way.  You are changed from glory to glory in a forward direction being transformed into the image of God by moving forward from one glory to another glory by the Spirit of God."

Thought for the Day

"God-thinking teaches us to clearly identify your talents, abilities, personalty and skills, along with our temperament, aspirations, peculiarities and strengths. Once you have identified your:

  • Talent
  • Ability
  • Personality
  • Skills
  • Temperament
  • Aspirations
  • Peculiarities
  • Strengths
Then you can take a serious look at your desires, goals, dreams, and task at hand, so that what you are planning to do, to get to:
  • the consummation of your desires
  • the objective of your goals
  • the realization of your dreams
  • the end of the task at hand
Will be in cooperation with, and in agreement with, the Word of God for your life."

Thought for the Day

"Come and bow before Jesus. Let God have His way with you. Trust Him. God knows what He is doing. He knows about your tomorrows. The Holy Spirit sheds His love on you. Jesus loves you with His everything and will and does everything for you that is in His will. Jesus can intercede for you. Jesus could die for you, but Jesus cannot bow for you. It has got to be on your own.

Come and be filled with the anointing of God."

Thought for the Day

"Someone is ready to stand before God and confess:

  • I don't know all there is to know, but I know I want You.
  • I am willing to lay it all down for a moment where I truly trust You, Lord.
  • I'm coming to get hold of You, Jesus.
  • I'm not letting go until I touch the hem of Your garment.
  • I'm not leaving here until ... Oh Lord, not my will but Thy will.
  • I'm not afraid anymore to lose myself in You, precious Jesus.
  • I don't want any more tomorrow's without Your sweet presence, Holy God.
  • I don't care any more if someone sees me bow before You, precious Holy Spirit.
  • Abba, Father, help me Lord to get over myself.
  • I believe You Lord, help thou my unbelief.
  • Father, I'm not afraid to be undone, if You put me back together.
  • I'm not afraid of losing my life in service to You, Holy God.
  • Lord, take my everything, so that the world doesn't get any more of it.
  • Lord, I want to hear Your voice.
  • You are the worthy One, Lord Jesus.
  • I want You to be My physician.
  • I will trust in Your medicine.
  • Whatever You prescribe, that will I take.
  • Lord give me vision. Help me to see my calling.
This writer says today is the beginning of a bright and productive future for you. Should you trust Him?"

"Be obedient and come and let God reveal Himself to you.  You will never be alone again.  If God has been dealing with your heart.  If God has called you by name.  Come and bow before Him today and be placed on high in the heavenlies with the Master.

Some of us need to step out in faith today and give it up for Jesus.
Some of us need to re-commit ourselves to a holy life and be in God=s presence today, empty of self, ready with open arms to be filled with only Holy God.
Some of us are ready to have our whole self disclosed and we are willing to let God have His way with us.  Someone is ready to be transformed from glory to glory.  2 Corinthians 3:18"

God is calling you to step out in faith and take your chances with Him. Someone may be called to give their life to Jesus today. If God has called you out then He has promised to take you all the way.  If it is to make some changes, talk to God about it and let God be the God of your situation."

  • "God wants you to know, He will be there with you in it and through it all
  • God wants you to know that you aren't going through something He doesn't know about
  • God wants you to know He sees tomorrow and the tomorrow after that
  • God wants you to know He has worked out the end of it, with you in mind all the time
God knows it all. Quit worrying about it. Quit letting that thing that isn't worked out eat at you like a cancer. God sees it clearly. You can't say you trust God with the left side of your faith and that you are distraught over it on the right side of your faith."

Thought for the Day

"Why does God want you to go into His presence? Here this closely. God knows your future. He sees all the beautiful moments, those moments of bliss beyond description. He sees success and peace, and happiness, joy and maturity. But God also sees:
  • The failures and broken vows
  • The moments of pain
  • The grief of losing a loved one
  • The wrong turns
  • The poor choices
  • The unfulfilled dreams
  • The lonely days
God sees you in your old age. God sees it all. And because He sees it all, He knows that without Him, you cannot stand it alone.

"Hear me closely:

  • God doesn't let you in His presence like Disney World let's you in their park
  • God doesn't let you in His presence like Busch Gardens does
  • God doesn't let you in His presence to entertain you or to make you feel good.
  • God let's you in His presence to consume you and then to fill you
You want to be in the presence of God
You want all the benefits of God
You want your finances to be increased
You want your body to be healed
You want your prayers to be answered
But not many of you want to be undone."

Thought for the Day

God gives you vision of who you are, even in the hidden corner of your being, to give you insight, to empower you, to benefit you and to bless you:
  • So you will change
  • So you will make corrections in your course of life
  • So you can improve your situation
  • So you will grow in grace
  • And so you can see God clearly
  • Not a foggy view burdened by your love for the things of this world
  • Not a view blocked by a stubborn will
  • Not a view biased by denominational preferences
  • Not a view based on your own private interpretation
But a view based on truth. The truth about God and the truth about you, a meeting of the created with the Creator.

Excerpt from The Power of God Thinking by Keith C. Powell Copyright 2010

Thought for the Day

Hear what Isaiah says in Isaiah 6:1-5 "In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and His train filled the temple. V2 Above it stood the Seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain He covered His face, and with twain He covered His feet, and with twain He did fly. V3 And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, Holy, Holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of His glory. V4 And the posts of the door moved at the voice of Him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke. V5 Then said I, Woe is me! For I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts."

When we come into the very presence of God, God reveals Himself and discloses: His Power - His Holiness - His Mercy - His Love - His Omnipotence - His Omniscience - His Omnipresence - His Sovereignty - His Immutability. God reveals who we are too. He reveals those 'secret things'. God uncovers us so that we can see clearly who we really are:
  • Not melt us or destroy us.
  • Not to embarrass us or demean us.
  • Not to set us back or to hurt us.
  • Not to chastise us because He doesn't like us
God reveals who we are to empower us.

Thought for the Day

"V28 The woman left her waterpot, and went her way into the city, and saith to the men, Now I read this story so you could see what really happens when you come into the presence of God. It's found in verse John 4:29. "V29 Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ?"

In the presence of God, He reveals Himself, but He reveals us to ourselves also. Can you see what happened in this short story? From not knowing the Savior at all, to meeting the Savior, to recognizing the Savior, to trusting the Savior, all in the presence of the Savior. That's the presence of God."

Thought for the Day

"The woman like many is ready for her eyes to be opened and to see Jesus as He is for the first time.

"V26 Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am He. V27 And upon this came His disciples, and marveled that He talked with the woman; yet no man said, What seekest thou? Or, Why talkest thou with her?"

It's true, they didn't ask the question, but they were thinking it. The disciples were still religious in their thought life. They were far more worried about what people thought than what Jesus was doing. They have not yet sold out to Christ. It's just like the religious to look on the outside and try to figure out what's going on, on the inside."

Excerpt from The Power of God Thinking by Keith C. Powell Copyright 2010

Thought for the Day

"There's still more. "V21 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe Me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father. V22 Ye worship ye know not what: We know what we worship: For salvation is of the Jews. V23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshipers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. V24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship Him must worship Him in Spirit and in truth. V25 The woman saith unto Him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things."

Can you see how the woman at the well is getting just a little more serious about this conversation. She is thinking back to what she was taught or what she heard concerning the Messiah. She wants Jesus to know that she is not totally ignorant of the things of God. She is starting to listen and she realizes she is in the presence of a credible source of information. Now she is close, like so many:

  • They have heard the voice of God call them by name.
  • They have received enough light that they are ready to receive from God the free gift of salvation.
  • They are right on the edge of their seat, ready to leap forward at the unction of the Holy Spirit.
  • They are not living as they know they should, but they are powerless to do anything about it on their own.

Thought for the Day

There's more.
"V16 Jesus saith unto her, Go, call thy husband, and come hither. V17 The woman answered and said, I have no husband. Jesus said unto her, Thou hast said well, I have no husband: V18 For thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband: in that saidst thou truly. V19 The woman saith unto Him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet. V20 Our fathers worshiped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship."

Have you ever noticed how the unbeliever is an expert in the things of God? The woman at the well did what all unbelievers do before they meet the Master; they quote what religion says, instead of what God says, thereby revealing that they base how they see God, on how they view the religious of their era/area/custom.

The unbeliever does the same thing today. Why would I want to be like this person or that person, instead of looking to Christ? We don't get into the presence of God emulating people."

Thought for the Day

"Let=s go on.  V13 Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again:  V14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.  V15 The woman saith unto him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw.@

Again, the first thing that most people think about when they finally come to the place where they realize that God has something to offer that they cannot get anywhere else, is, give me what you have.  And that=s OK.  That=s why God saves people.  That=s why He draws them to Himself, to give them what they cannot get elsewhere.  But there=s more to the story."

Thought for the Day

"V10 Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me a drink; thou wouldest have asked of Him, and He would have given thee living water. V11 The woman saith unto Him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water? V12 Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us this well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle?"

Let's stop again. The unbeliever is always questioning how God operates and what are the methods of His doings. They want God to explain Himself and disclose Himself to prove Himself, but even when God does, (and God does as He did here in this story), they are looking for God to explain Himself by using the natural and not the supernatural. Like, trying to draw water from the well without a bucket. The unbeliever at this point isn't denying the existence of God, but has no understanding of how God interacts with His creation."

  • If you seek for God to disclose Himself to you in this most intimate way.
  • If you want the beauty of holiness to overcome you so that you can see nothing but God.
  • If you want the impartation of God's very light to encircle you.
  • If you want the transforming power of God to overtake you.
Does this sound like an experience that you might want in your life? Let me read you a short story from the scriptures. There is a process, an osmosis of sorts that takes place in this story that is somewhat like our own. The entire story is found in John 4:6-29. The woman at the well comes into the presence of the Savior. Let's see what happens, John 4:6-9. "Now Jacob's well was there. (Samaria) Jesus therefore, being wearied with His journey, sat thus on the well: and it was about the sixth hour. V7 There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give Me to drink. V8 (For his disciples were gone away unto the city to buy meat.) V9 Then saith the woman of Samaria unto Him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, asketh drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? For the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans."

Let's stop here for a second. I want you to notice first that those who don't know the Savior feel like they have to bring God up to speed. They have to let God know what's going on; who they are, where they are from, kind of set the record straight. The unsaved always start out trying to tell God how it is. They spend most of their time trying to enlighten God. They spend a lot of time justifying who they are and why. That's the view of the unbeliever - They don't recognize God, nor do they understand the things of God."

Thought for the Day

"If you want an inner court experience that takes you behind the veil, in the very presence of God, the holy of holies, that place where God is God and you are in Him; you will have to bring your faith, seek God diligently, present yourself to Him, without reservation, and be prepared to commune with Him in awe."
