Thought for the day

"In the presence of God:
2 You will have to abandon your pre-conceived idea of what you will receive from God.

God doesn't want you and I coming into His presence having it all figured out, nor does He want you and I coming into His presence with pre-conceived ideas of what we will receive.

Don't get me wrong, if we were talking about prayer, you have every right to pray in faith believing with expectation that you will receive what God reveals to you that you should have.

But this place, this inner court, this holy of holies, this place where you present yourself to God, with no agenda - This place where you say not my will, but thine and mean it - This place where you give it all up, you don't come away from this place disappointed.
  • You don't come away from this place empty handed.
  • You don't come away from this place with questions.
  • You don't come away from this place seeking something else.
  • You don't come away from this place not quite sure if it was God.
  • you don't come away from this place the same person as you went.
God has a way of dealing with pre-conceived ideas. He shows you the results of what you want and then holds up the results of what He wants you to want. Which one would you want? God says, "think it up and bring it to me and I will show you what it looks like with God in it."
